How do these new technologies affect the way we communicate today? Write your answer on

The social media is at the heart of numerous routes in which

technology has influenced correspondence. It empowers us to in a
flash communicate over the world at the cost of a broadband
membership, which has dramatically affected how we can stay in
contact with family or work with partners working remotely. While
this has reached others, it has likewise made it harder to switch off.
Speaking with those we know is presently much more straightforward
and more helpful than it ever has been, at the risk of making our lives
always rushed and busy.

“How do you feel about the status of English in the Philippines?”
The Filipinos are no stranger to the English language, mind you that even if not everyone
could be skilled conversationally, they would most likely understand what you are saying. The
middle class and upper class use English most of the time, with some working-class citizens
being able to comprehend as well. This allows them to get the upper hand when it comes to
conversations with foreigners. Our books are in English, the signs and notices are in English, and
schools use English as a medium of instruction.
English language is the core of the Filipino people’s ability to go global. It improved
many lives and generations of Filipinos because of the fact that an English language speaker can
do more than stay at home and do household tasks, or be the keeper of the family business while
those who can speak and understand the language can be the negotiators or be able to travel and
work typically anywhere.
Here in the Philippines, English can be used for conversation and for work. Many
Filipino households speak English and Filipino at home. A lot of call center agents also speak
with what seems to be an American. This is due to exposure from Westerners and for ease of
understanding.
This resulted in a new form of code switching- Taglish. This is basically a mixture of
English and Tagalog (the language spoken in Manila and surrounding provinces).
English language is the core of the Filipino people’s ability to go global. It improved
many lives and generations of Filipinos because of the fact that an English language speaker can
do more than stay at home and do household tasks, or be the keeper of the family business while
those who can speak and understand the language can be the negotiators or be able to travel and
work typically anywhere.
Overall, Filipinos fare well in the language. It is something I take pride in, knowing that
my knowledge in English would help bridge the gaps between people, and that the country’s
knowledge of English would bring you to places. English is an essential backbone of Philippine
society.
ASSIGNMENT
Create a poster which reflects your understanding regarding the topic: Communication and
Globalization. After which, provide a brief explanation of your work. Do your poster on bond
paper (any size) and post it in the assigned task in the google classroom. Carpie Diem!
