How is each stage in the communication process relevant?

Identify how communication breakdowns

develop in each stage. Propose ways in overcoming them.

Every stage of the communication process is necessary because it serves a certain purpose and
objective. The communication process cannot function effectively if one of the stages, which include
sender, encoding, channel, decoding, feedback, and context, is absent. The sender is the source of
information or a message, and she or he must understand the message's essence. Therefore, the sender
is one of important part in the communication process because they are the ones who deliver the
information or message, and communication starts with them. Encoding is the process of converting
ideas into words. To convey the message, the encoder utilizes a 'medium' or 'channel’. A channel is the
way by which information is passed from a sender to a recipient in communications. Communication
channels can refer to both the methods we use to communicate and the specific tools we utilize during
the process. For example, phone calls, text messages, emails, video, radio, and social media, are all
forms of communication. Decoding is a portion of the message receiving process in which the receiver
must be able to deduce meaning from the words or phrases used to correctly interpret or understand
the message. And once the message or information is received by the recipient, decoding occurs. Also, It
entails receiving, decoding, and comprehending an encoded message. Feedback refers to a response
from the recipient that informs the communicator about the message's reception and whether it needs
to be tweaked. And we have the ability to understand the reactions or worries of our audience. It is far
preferable to receive feedback, whether it is negative or positive. It also helps us in improving our
performance, and we all know that communication is meaningless or inadequate without feedback.
Each stage served a distinct function, but they are all interconnected. As we all know, communication is
the act of passing information to other people, and people tend to communicate efficiently and clearly.
However, there is a chance that there may be an issue at each level, which will lead to communication
breakdowns. For example, when people stop listening to each other, communication breaks down
occurred. If they don't listen, the message went unnoticed and ineffective. Other breakdowns arise
when one person begins to make noise without a clear understanding of how to communicate in a
courteous and responsible manner. And too much babbling or whining can make others unable to listen.
The channel is sometimes the issue, as it is possible that it will have a difficulty at any point. For
example, if you only have your cellphone to submit your homework to your teacher but it is not
operating properly, this can lead to a communication breakdown. If there is a communication
breakdown, of course there also ways to overcome it. First, the sender should make sure that the
message is written in a clear and basic manner. The tone of the communication should not be hurtful to
the receiver's feelings. Second, check your surroundings to see if it is a good time and place to speak
with the person. Communicate only one thing at a time and respect the decision of others not to
communicate. Lastly, we should also have contingency plans in place in case of problems. It is necessary
to have action plans in place so that we can accomplish effective communication and prevent
communication barriers. So, they are some of the things I can advocate to help people communicate
more effectively.
