    Romería la Churona the festivities in honor of 'La Churona' begin in May in the so-called
    month of Mary and last for about six months between pilgrimages, masses and music
    festivals.

    The Plaza Santo Domingo is a lavish and attractive space that, together with the mixture of
    architectural styles that contrast with each other in most of the surrounding buildings, has a
    bust of Don Manuel Carrión Pinzano in the center.

    for many years in this old market.

    The Alfredo Mora Reyes Cultural Center bears the name of an illustrious and prominent

    The Ambato viewpoint is located in El Parque de La Familia
    It is a place that gives the feeling of freedom and tranquility, apart from showing you a good
    view of Ambato and its surroundings. Years ago, this park was a farm of apples, pears and
    claudias (plums), which was later converted into a natural park.

    Historically, most of the city center has been rebuilt, after the disastrous earthquake of 1949
    that destroyed much of the city, as well as neighboring cities (Patate, Pelileo, Riobamba).
