Synopsis On: Sustainability in Automotive Sector: (Four-Wheeler Passenger Segment)
1. INTRODUCTION:
With growing concerns around climate change, global warming, environmental degradation,
sustainability has been a priority for almost all automotive organizations. Government,
consumers and all other stakeholders are pushing organizations to change the way of working as
well as the nature and quality of the product. Sustainability is a very critical issue and it is
estimated that nearly 50 billion $ over the next 5years to meet the sustainability targets in
addition to investment in electric vehicles, autonomous cars and digital mobility services.

The study focuses on the sustainability initiatives taken by major players in automotive sector in
the past 3-4 years, with an exclusive focus 4 wheelers (passenger segment) while predicting the
possible developments in near future. The major players under study would be Honda, BMW,
Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Ford, Volvo, Hyundai and Mahindra .
4. METHODOLOGY:
The research is theoretical in nature and we aim to address data stemming directly from
previous studies on this subject. We aim to select around 15 raw articles and then filter out the
content that align with the title. An exploratory search in Google is also done with the keywords
to add additional studies on the topic.
