1. The role of Mass Media in a Contemporary World
The media of today’s world is playing an outstanding role in creating and shaping of public opinion and
strengthening of society. By means of media, one can influence, even beyond one’s own will. Also, media
has remained an integral part of human civilizations. Using means of information and communication such as
mass media becomes a necessity. Mass media are both positive and negative image creator, a source of
information as well as a tool of propaganda.
2. The Global use of English as a medium of instructions in schools
This phenomenon, generally known as English-medium instruction, is seen as part of the internalization
process that many universities are pushing. Teaching the language, or educational content, through the
target language increases the amount of exposure the learner gets to it, and the opportunities they have to
communicate it, and therefore develop their control of it. English is used from the beginning of a course as
the main language in class, and the teacher adapts their methodology to support meaning, by using a lot of
visual information and non-verbal communication to support meaning.
3. The help of globalization in religion
Religion has tremendously benefited from technological advancements. By making the leap onto the
information superhighway, which brings religious teaching into every home and monitor in a global setting,
religions have come together into one setting. Therefore, religions must use the communication easily
available through advanced technology to focus more on the humane and pluralistic forms of their
teachings; values such as human dignity and human freedom as means to manage religious diversity and
avoid violence.
4. Globalization is the most important changes
Globalization is the most important change in today’s world. Like for example the internet as for
communication, it allows the person to know what’s happening in other part of the world. Also, it improves
the transportation, business economy, etc. It makes our life easier than before. That is why we can do
whatever we want in just a blink of an eye. However, it has given rise to the competition, crime, terrorism,
etc. So, together with the happiness it has brought some sadness also.
5. Effects of globalization to the present world
Due to the increased demand in the high tech industry around the world, business and industry have
potential for huge profits working globally. So in today’s world, globalization is an important concept for
students in higher education to understand and appreciate because of the demand in business and industry
to hire people who can work with people of other nations and cultures and if need be can travel
independently internationally to promote their business or industry. In addition, the world faces global
challenges that will take groups to solve these challenges; providing access to clean water for everyone on
this planet and making clean renewable energy affordable just to name a few.
