Literature Case Study-2: National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai
Sometimes, serendipity, and not necessity proves to be the mother of invention....The concept was
inspired by a toy cube that a trainee happened to bring to office one day. A white cube that magically
breaks into multifaceted prismatic colored forms by simple manipulations and collapses back into a
ubiquitous white cube. This was captured in built form in the manyfaceted triangular pockets in the building
that revealed its colors as a person drove by. These triangular colored pockets serve as wind-catchers and
buffer for the spaces within, channeling the wind and keeping out the harsh Chennai sun.Moral of the story.
its never too late to play with toys. You never know what you can come upon.
