Mode (ADM) Module on PERSONAL ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCIES (PECs).

The hand is one of the most symbolized part of the human body. It is often used to
depict skill, action and purpose. Through our hands we may learn, create and accomplish
varied works. Hence, the hand in this learning resource signifies that you as a learner is
capable and empowered to successfully achieve the relevant competencies and skills at
your own pace and time. Your academic success lies in your own hands!

This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for
guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process
the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.

 What I Need to Know

In this module, you will learn more about entrepreneurship and the
entrepreneurial competencies related to Animation. You will have a first-hand
experience in educating activities leading to the assessment of your personal
entrepreneurial competencies and the entrepreneurial competency as an animator.
You will have a few exercises that will adjust your capabilities to those of effective
practitioner or business professional. Moreover, this module will encourage you to
think about entrepreneurship and its role in the business community as well as in the
economic and social development of an individual.

The refined ability and innovative nature of Filipino artists make the
Philippines most favored redistributing accomplice of huge global creation around
the world. Besides lower expenses of administrations, large organizations depend on
us because of our English capability, reliable quality, and speed in conveying yield,
and capacity to understand ideas and story lines superior to our Asian partners.

These days with the ascent and extension of industry and technology, it has
been a critical factor in the interest of experts in our nation but what does it truly take
to prevail as an illustrator whether you choose to work for an organization or start
your very own organization?

 What’s New

Success! Youngest billionaire in the world.

A young man from India turned to be the youngest billionaire in the world at
the age of 26 in the year 2020. His name was Ritesh Agrawal. He came from a city
where most people earn more or less 10 dollars (500 pesos) a day. He grew up in a
poor family and for 18 years he struggled, he didn’t even go to school and have a
career. He felt that it was the toughest period in his life to endure. At some point, he
was even kick out in his apartment with only $0.50 in his bank account. According to
him, “money is not I even cared about it is always about solving real problems for
me” and so he did. He noticed a hotel which is empty a lot of time nearby and the
owner doesn’t make much income from it. So he went to the owner and took the
biggest risk in his life. He promised to make his hotel better. He changed the light
bulbs, beds, added water, hung picture frames, put room service and he took nice
photos of the hotel and put them on internet. He changed the name and called it Oyo
Hotel.
All of the sudden the hotel went empty to full and it worked. “The first hotel
was the hardest, but if I can change one hotel I can change thousands of them”, he
concluded. At age twenty he raised money from investors. At 21 he hired 50 people.
At 22 he had 500 hotels and at 26 he had 46,000 hotels and builds the second
largest hotel chain in the world.

Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PECs)

To learn what PECs is and to be able to explain why we need to have, or at
least examine one’s self to develop PECs, let us first break down and define
significant terms so we can better understand PECs in layman’s terms.

Entrepreneur – a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses,

taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.

Entrepreneurship - is the act of creating a business or businesses while building

and scaling it to generate a profit

 Being an entrepreneur requires more than just big idea. A true
entrepreneur is a rare breed; it’s someone who possesses a unique cocktail of
traits, skills and characteristics that enable them to beat the odds and go after
their dreams full throttle. But what are those attributes? What does
an entrepreneur need to succeed?
Here are some of the attributes that successful entrepreneurs tend to
possess in abundance.

1. Goal-oriented

Entrepreneurs are all about setting goals and putting their all into
achieving them; they’re determined to make their business succeed and will
remove any encumbrances that may stand in their way. They also tend to be
strategic in their game plans and always have a clear idea in mind of
exactly what they want to achieve and how they plan to achieve it.

2. Committed to their business

Entrepreneurs are not easily defeated. They view failure as an opportunity

for future success, and if they don’t succeed the first time, they’ll stay committed
to their business and will continue to try and try again until it does succeed. A
true entrepreneur doesn’t take “no” for an answer.

3. Hands-on on the business

Entrepreneurs are inherently proactive, and know that if something really

needs to get done, they should do it themselves. They’re “doers”, not thinkers,
and tend to have very exacting standards. They view their business as an
extension of themselves and like to be integral in its day-to-day operations even
when they don’t have to be.

4. Thrive on uncertainty

Not only do they thrive on it, they also remain calm throughout it.
Sometimes things go wrong in business, but when you’re at the helm of a
company and making all the decisions, it’s essential to keep your cool in any
given situation. True entrepreneurs know this and secretly flourish and grow in
the wake of any challenges.

5. Continuously look for opportunities to improve

Entrepreneurs realize that every event or situation is a business

opportunity, and they’re constantly generating new and innovative ideas. They
have the ability to look at everything around them and focus it toward their goals
in an effort to improve their business.

6. Willing to take risks

A true entrepreneur doesn’t ask questions about whether or not they’ll

succeed. They truly believe they will. They exude this confidence in all aspects
of life, and as a by-product, they’re never afraid to take risks due to their
unbinding faith that ultimately they will triumph.

7. Willing to listen and learn

The most important part of learning is listening—and a good entrepreneur

will do this in abundance.

8. Persuasive

Entrepreneurs have strong communication skills, and it’s this strength that
enables them to effectively sell their product or service to clients and customers.
They’re also natural leaders with the ability to motivate, inspire and influence
those around them.

9. Inherently creative

This is one trait that, due to their very nature, entrepreneurial business
people have by the bucket load. They’re able not only to come up with ingenious
ideas, but also turn those ideas into profits.

10. Passionate and always full of positivity

Passion is perhaps the most important trait of the successful

entrepreneur. They genuinely love their job and are willing to put in those extra
hours to make their business grow; they get a genuine sense of pleasure from
their work that goes way beyond just cash.

Very few people are fortunate enough to be born with all of these
characteristics, but the good news is that they can all be learned. Nowadays
there are webinars, seminars and books you can sign up for to learn the rules of
being a great entrepreneur.
