CIMA NATIONAL BUSINESS GAMES COMPETITION: FAQ’s

1. What’s the nature of competition?


A team based event, CIMA National Business Games will require participating College students to solve a
few case studies. The Competition will be conducted in three stages.

• Round 1 – Knockout Round (Wed, 11 Aug):


→ We will kickstart the competition by onboarding all the teams and a welcome address. We shall
explain all the rules and answer any queries.
→ The Round 1 Case study will be made available online for 24 hrs and will be available to
download.
→ Next day (Thurs, 12 Aug) an MCQ type quiz will go live for 30 mins. Round 1 Winners shall be
announced on Fri, 13 Aug and the qualifying team will then proceed to Round 2.

• Round 2 – Semi Finals (Fri, 13 Aug):


→ The second case study will be emailed to qualifying team on 13th August, 24 hrs before
submission.
→ Participants will be required to prepare a powerpoint presentation of their solution. The total
slides should not exceed more than 8 pages.
→ On Sat, 14 Aug we shall host a Finance Leadership Program introduction session, followed by
Q & A.
→ Solutions should be uploaded on submission link by 12 noon.
→ These answers will then be assessed, and results will be declared by Wed, 18 Aug.

• Round 3 – Grand Finale (Wed, 18 Aug & Sat 21 Aug):


→ The students will receive case for round 3 on 18th August.
→ Students will be required to assess and state their solution in a PowerPoint presentation
format and upload it on a submission link by CIMA by 10 pm on Fri, 20 Aug.
→ On Saturday, 21 Aug the competition will commence at 9:30 am.
→ We shall announce the line-up during opening. Each team will be required to present their
solution to the judges within 10 minutes, followed by 5 mins Q & A.

2. Why should I participate?


• The competition is aimed at developing 360 degrees analytical skills amongst budding finance
professionals. CIMA, a management accounting profession guides you on the right way to
approach any business situation. During the competition, you will be given valuable feedback
from industry experts.
• The Winning team will be awarded a cash prize of INR 40,000, and for runner up team a prize of
INR 20,000.

3. How do I register?

Few things to keep in mind while registering:
• You need to form a team of 4 and register yourself onto the link
• Feel free to name your group.
• While registering, name all the group members and along with their DOB, and contact details.
• All students need not be from same year / batch. A group of students from various batches but
from Commerce / Finance related streams would be preferred.
• Students must be from Commerce / Finance streams only. (Bcom (any specialization), BBA / BMS
(Finance), Mcom / MBA / PGDM (Finance) and upto the age of 23 yrs.
• There is no registration fee for the competition.
• Registration will begin from Mon, Aug 2 (9 am) and will remain open until Mon, 9 Aug (9 pm)

4. When will the competition begin?


The Competition will begin from Wed, 11 Aug

5. How will I know if my team’s registration has been accepted?


You and your college professors will be notified by Tues, Aug 10 via email with detailed instructions about
Round 1.

6. By when will I know if my team has qualified for the next round?
You will be notified of the result at least a day prior to the next round.

7. How and where should I submit my solutions?


• Round 1 will be MCQ Questionnaire.
• For Round 2, a link will be provided to you for uploading a file. No more than one document should
be uploaded per team. Same procedure will be followed for Round 3.

8. What if I’m unable to upload a file due to some technical difficulty?


In such case, please email your solutions to [email protected]

9. What if a team member is unable to join on the day of competition due to some emergency /
technical issue?
• If someone is unable to join due to an emergency, please let us know immediately. We shall look
into the matter and make a decision accordingly.
• In case of a network issue during your group’s presentation for Round 3, your group will be pushed
to the end and you shall be given another chance to present.
