A. Reflect

and Donaldson in 2017, and Oracion in 2015 are still prevalent in schools?
Why?

Yes, True teacher leadership connects teachers and principals in their shared
mission: improving learning for students. We know that the most important
factor in a child’s education is the teacher; when we invite and include expert
teachers in improving the learning environment throughout the school, we
aren’t removing our best teachers from the classrooms to become
administrators. Instead, we are extending their reach. In this issue
of Professional Practices for the 21 st  Century Leader, I explore the idea of
shared leadership embedded in Professional Standards for Education
Leaders (PSEL) Standard 7: Professional Community for Teachers and Staff.

b. Can you think of other challenges that teacher leader face?

With additional responsibilities and little extra time, teachers are often
forced to make sacrifices that compromise their ability to be effective in
both roles. A lack of support and encouragement from school
administrators and teaching colleagues often poses the biggest obstacles
for teacher leaders

Transforming schools system with high technology-enabled automation
tools to support the academic and administrative processes will make it

there is an emerging demand to modernize public education system with
cloud, mobile and digital technologies to improve operational efficiency
and manage the institution effectively.

B . Interview a teacher leader. Ask him/her the following questions:

a. What prompted you to assume a leadership role?

Having a mission for your team or organization is the best reason there is
for wanting to be a leader. The best leaders put most of their time and energy into
helping other people be successful, by making connections, giving feedback, and
providing the resources they need.

b. What are the challenges that you encountered?

Here are the challenges that I encountered:
 Miscommunication between my fellow teachers and clashes of ideas/
opinions.
 Inactive participation and support of parents and other stakeholders
 Lack of budget or MOOE to support the needs of the school, teachers
and learners.

c. How are you able to overcome these challenges?

I overcome these challenges by becoming a leader who is open-minded; I am
learning to be active and cooperative. Follow the advices of your superior. Have
the faith to surpass all the challenges with the help of our most high God.

talents, and personality traits; and give them opportunities for professional development
so that they can increase their efficacy.

Yes, for me, the present educational system supports the development of
teachers leaders. It is because there are new reforms in the education system
where it enhances the curriculum. Which means teacher are also need to
enhance, level up their abilities and skills to fit in the requirements of new
education system. There’s a lot of seminars, building programs for better
development of teachers leaders.

for promotion.

roles?

Administrators can encourage teachers to take on leadership roles is to

support professional learning communities so that leaders can network
supporting charismatic environments where leaders are both energized and
inspired to share what works and what doesn’t, will not only reinforce a culture of
collaboration but will also expand your leader’s impact. Share the load and avoid
burn out-creating ample and varied leadership opportunities, appropriately
matching leaders to tasks, and sharing the load distributes responsibilities in
manageable, collaborative doses.

As a future teacher, I think I can able to accept leadership abilities. In the first

learning. Basically, I am trained to become a leader to be professional, efficient,
and effective teacher. As a future leader is to lead students to path of success,
setting directions and pave them the way to aim the goal for student’s learning.
Leadership starts in the small group. I am motivated and guided by the mission
