Act or process of people moving from one place to another with the intent of establishing residency
Types Of Migration
• Internal Migration- this is defined as the process where migrants look for a new residence within
their own country, states, or continent. For example, there are people who relocate themselves
from the rural areas in the same country for various reasons.
• Social Migration- situations related to social relationship, community, and certain freedoms
including religious freedom
• Forced Migration- this happens when the state or authorities force its people to migration for a
reason.
Push factors are those negative influences that motivate people to relocate from one area to another
Pull factors are those positive (desires) influences that motivate people to relocate from one area to
another
