Based on the reflections made on the political thoughts of Filipino Thinkers and Philippine

Political Parties, what impact do these have to:

A. Contemporary politics
There are several salient political thoughts and ideology which will be suitable on
the contemporary politics as of today. Firstly, the Political Thought of Rafael Palma will
be fit to have an impact on the relationship in several schools and universities. Palma
reflects an academician political thinker. His ideology brought a lot of impact for the
students today; A safety environment for learning wherein there are interaction of ideas
between a student and a professor. Moreover, the students as of today became more
active on expressing their opinion about governmental and politics issue. Their freedom
to engage in participate to the rallies made Palma’s ideology as number one bearing
today. On the contemporary politics, Education serves as a key for future endeavours of
the student. Next, Jose P. Laurel regards to the Nationalism which he coined it as
Filipinisim will be applicable in the contemporary politics. The Philippines has its own
capacity to develop the nationalism which will be the greatest and must possess by every
Filipino. Moreover, Jose Rizal’s ideology such as Nationalism, Patriotic Love for our
country and Equality affects the contemporary politics. Filipinos now can freely
participate on the government and the social justice was attained. Rizal also became a
man who looked up by everyone. The Promise of Self –Rule by Emillio Aguinaldo
imparts on the contemporary politics wherein establishment of real republic took place
and it was purely on the hands of the Filipinos with no help from colonial power. Hence,
the trend of politics of today is being connected to powerful state, it cannot deny the fact
that today Filipinos administer the Government of Philippines freely.

B. Dynamics and Processes of Political Institutions


Institution as the rules of the games and an organization which acts for the
government can be seen as rapidly changing and evolving. Thus, Nur Misuari’s fight on
Freedom of Bangsamoro and Equality among all People, Peace and Freedom can relates
to the shift of dynamics and processes of Political Institutions. To such His ideology
focal target will be a more space and rights for Muslim people and wants to establish a

safety haven place. Also, by lobbying the self-based definition of equality, it can
influence the decision of the government. Political and Social Interest by Fidel Ramos
touches the dynamics and processes of political institutions of today wherein his
Ideology was based upon the needs of the Filipinos. Giving further incentives to public
employees and assessed the need of the society. The interest of public and the whole
society is being consider first to what extent the decision of the government can be,

C. Current Societal/Cultural State of thought in the Philippine


Primarily, the best ideology as to impact in current societal and cultural state of the
Philippines which is also a need was Ramon Magsaysay “Love of Country and
fellowmen”. It virtuously conforms to the interest of the public and has a strong passion
to serve for his country The President of Philippines shall have a fair treatment in all and
without prejudices to other politicians as well as to its fellowmen. In the current situation
wherein there is an aggressively fight against drugs which other cases illustrates non-
human rights act committed in the sided of the government, the president minds can go
back on Magsaysay’s ideology thought love and country and fellowmen that it must
adhre to due process of law. Secondly, Jose P. Laurel regards to the Nationalism which
he coined it as Filipinisim will be applicable in the contemporary politics
Hence, the political ideology and thought of Ferdinand Marcos reflects the fear of
the society of today in the administration of President Duterte. Constitutional
Authoritarianism which he will acquire too much power and position to the government
but undergo to procedures, standards and mechanism of legitimacy. It was due to the fact
that declaration of Martial law to Mindanao takes longer and the act of the President was
unusual. Some of the Filipinos feared that the second dictator will appear in character of
President Rodrigo Duterte.
