OUTCOMES EVALUATION #3

BSIE 1-1
Years ago, I-Witness covered different life stories of

children from different places in our country. There was this 3 year old

Ekang from Pasay, Jimmy and Jonel Carde from Camarines Norte, and

Charles and Adrian from Abra. If there is something that they all have

in common, it is how they are born in this world where all they could

see is poverty. Ekang’s parents were victims of “kapit sa patalim”

because in Pasay, stuff like crimes, prostitution, and distribution of

illegal drugs are their idea of way of living. We cannot blame them

because in their point of view, it is the easiest way to make money and

rights of a child such as playing and studying were taken away from

The documentary is something beyond sympathetic and

empathetic. It reaches and touches viewer’s heart and point of view. I-

Witness’ documentaries has always been full of love, empathy, and

effort. They really go out of their ways just to give us a glimpse of

what it is like living on the other side of what we normally see. The

cinematography and directory of photography is on point and

contributes a lot to the emotion of the video. It is intelligently made

and corresponds to Karen Davila’s script was made intellectually and

there are lines that can surely leave a mark in our lives.
I am quite sure that majority of the people who watched the

video felt sorry and sympathy towards the children who were in the

documentary. Their key takeaways might be how they realized and

appreciate the things that they currently have, be grateful for whatever

is served in front of us, and things like that. Although it is valid to feel

those things after watching the video, I feel like it is more self-

centered rather than being sympathetic towards our fellow countrymen
