Last October 5, 2019, we went on educational tour to Cavite. Cavite is known for many historical
Events such Katipunan in Cavite, Tejero Convention, Trial&Death of Bonifacio , Declaration of Philippine
Independence and many more. I was excited with this tour because it is my
first tour on college. In this tour, our first stop is to the Aguinaldo Shrine, the
birthplace of our first President Emilio Aguinaldo. As we walk toward the
shrine, bundles of hanging Philippine Flags
welcomed us. The place is beautiful; the design
of house is antique. The house of Aguinaldo
transformed into museum, we’ve seen artifacts
and preserved tools, apparatus, materials, utensils, and etc. that used by the
time of Aguinaldo we’ve also seen the rooms, the dining tables and every
single of those has a story on it. We roam around outside the shrine and we
saw the tomb of Aguinaldo.
The whole day is very tiring but we’ve learn a lot and the doubt about what our professor told us
about the history in Cavite is proven because of the primary sources we’ve seen from the places we go or
should I say the story thought by our teacher back then has a deeper understanding now because we’ve seen
it and places are existing. Our Prof. told us the Doubting Thomas Idea so this tour help us to fully understand
what happened in the past. This is the reason why primary sources are important, it can be used as evidence
by someone that has Doubting Thomas Idea feeling.
