1 Fuel Injectors (+) Red
2 Fuel Injectors (Ground) Black

3 Cylinder Head Oil Temperature Sensor Brown or


Brown/Red

4 Ground connections for the following:- Brown/White


- Oil Temperature Sensor
- Air Intake Temperature Sensor
- Hall Sensor (pin 1)
- Throttle Potentiometer (pin 3)

5 Positive connection for the following (to approx 1997):- Black


- Idle Speed Stabiliser
- Magnetic Valve
- Ignition Module (pins 3, K-Line and 15 ??)
Note: This pin is not connected on later vehicles.

6 Ignition Module (pin 2, Signal) Green/Black


7 Lambda Sensor (pin 1, Signal) Black

Mexican Beetle 1600i 28 pin Connector – Installation/Removal:-

The photo below (on the left) shows the engine bay connector locked correctly
in place:-

Connector installed. Connector being unplugged.

To unplug the engine bay connector from the body’s wiring harness, do the
following:-

- Disconnect the ground from the battery


- Turn the small ring anti-clockwise as shown in the above
right photo.
- Keep un-doing the small ring until the engine wiring harness
can be disconnected from the body’s wiring harness.

Re-installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure that the notches align
correctly as shown in the above left photo.
