The Morning Rite
Rubric:
A ritual of the morning to be performed first upon waking for Isis, Sobek, Heru, and Wesir to satisfy
Ma’at and make offerings to the gods. Gather offerings, and prepare the shrine. Wash hands and face
before the rite and wash out your mouth. Bring water, oil, and any offerings you wish to give.
The Chapter of Anointing With Oil

The magician anoints their brow and hands with oil with the words to be spoken:
I am pure, I am pure, I am pure, I am pure.
May I be bathed in Your scent, O Gods.
The Chapter of Lighting The Shrine Lamps

The magician lights the shrine lamps with the words to be spoken:
Receive the light, O Gods, receive the light.
Come to the shrine, O Gods, and receive the light.
The Chapter of Lighting the Incense

The magician lights the incense with the words to be spoken:
Sweet is the incense on the flame, O Gods, sweet is the incense on the flame.
Come to the shrine, O Gods, come to the shrine,
Sweet is the incense on the flame.
The Chapter of Greeting the Gods

The magician offers henu to the gods as they stand before shrine with the words to be spoken to
awaken the gods:
Awake in peace, O Isis, awake in peace.
Awake in peace, O Heru, awake in peace.
Awake in peace, O Wesir, awake in peace.
Awake in peace, O Sobek, awake in peace.
The Chapter of Opening The Shrine, and the Ka Embrace

The magician opens the shrine and embraces the statues of the gods with their hands with the words

to be spoken over each god:

Djehuty has come to you. Awake in peace when you hear his words.
I have come as the envoy of Atum.
My two arms are upon you like those of Heru.
My two hands are upon you like those of Djehuty.
My fingers are upon you like those of Anpu.
Homage to you, I am your living servant.
The Chapter of Pouring Libations to the Gods:

The magician pours a four-fold libation to each god with the words to be spoken:
This libation is for you, Isis.
This libation is for you, Heru.
This libation is for you, Wesir.
This libation is for you, Sobek.
Words to be spoken as the libation is raised to the gods:

I bring to you these libations which have come forth from Abu, from the “Place-of-Refreshment”.
Nun satisfies you.
I have brought to you these libations,
so that your heart may be satisfied with them.
All life is with you, all stability is with you,

all health is with you, all joy is with you.
May offerings of every kind come forth in abundance,

like the things which come forth from the mouth of a god.

The Chapter of Anointing The Gods With Oil:

The magician anoints the brow of each god with oil with the words to be spoken:
The incense comes,
the perfume of the gods comes towards you.
The perfume of the Eye of Heru comes towards you,
the perfume of Nekhbet coming forth from Nekheb [El-Kab].
It adorns you.
It washes over you.
The Chapter of Receiving Wisdom from the Gods, with the reversion of offerings:
The magician reverts the offerings and sits in silence, listening for any wisdom from the gods. Words
to be spoken upon the reversion of the offerings:
May I drink in your wisdom, Great Ones,
May this water sustain me as it sustains You.
The Chapter of the Restoration of Ma’at and the Two Lands:

The magician offers an image of Ma’at to the shrine with words to be spoken:
I am Djehuty, and I have come to You with Ma’at in my hands.
The distress that causes confusion has been driven away and all of the gods are in harmony.
Ma’at is everywhere You are, and your hearts rejoice as She rises before You.
I have established Ma’at in the Two Lands.

I have given Heru his eye, I have placed the Wadjet eye in the correct position.
I have given Set his testicles, so that the two lords are content through the work of my hands.
I know the sky, I know the earth. I know Heru, I know Set.
I am Djehuty, who reconciles the gods,
Who makes offerings in their correct form,
Who establishes Ma’at everywhere She is.
The Chapter of Concluding The Rite

The magician slowly closes the shrine with the words to be spoken:
Djehuty has come.
He has filled the eye of Heru,
He has restored the testicles of Setekh.
No evil shall enter this temple.
Ptah has closed the door, Djehuty has set it fast.
The door is closed, the door is set fast with the bolt.
Djehuty has performed the rites in the correct form.
Ma’at is established in this place forever.
The magician extinguishes the shrine lamps, then offers henu to the shrine and removes the foot.
It is done in this way for millions of years.
