2. What are the key differences compared to the strategies of Microsoft and SAS?
Jollibee’s competitiveness does not differ much from SAS’s “how much” and “what
form” pay factors. Although, we can clearly see the difference in the “work/life balance” in
which both Jollibee and SAS surpass Microsoft.
For the employee contributions, the map shows that Jollibee and SAS share similar ideals
in that the “group success” aspect is more applicable than that for an “individual.” But when
comparing the two company’s “incentives to base” it is Jollibee who supersedes SAS in that
area. Microsoft surpass in all aspect both Jollibee and SAS in employee contributions.
The management for the three companies falls in the medium point for “line ownership”
almost equally. The “transparency,” “technology,” and “choice” for both Microsoft and SAS
seem to be at highest point whereas the Jollibee falls in the middle range for all the management
objectives.
When we compare all the three companies, we need to understand that there will be big
differences in the objective for the three company. Jollibee is a food industry providing the
necessary merchandise for its consumers. Microsoft is a software company which is closely
related to SAS which is a business analytics and data company. So, comparing Microsoft and
SAS to Jollibee makes a big difference in providing service to their customer. To improve the
map of compensation strategy, it is best if we compare it to same company that provide more on
business analytics. Also, all the three companies have unique goals and objectives with what they
want to achieve and most times one company’s strength can be another company’s weakness in
any kind of business strategy.
By identifying the similarities and differences make the process of improving the
business industry in all aspect. The process of comparing details, sorting ideas into group, and
making connections to one's existing understanding in the company. Simply put, identifying
similarities and differences helps us make sense of the improvement we needed within the
industry. Company who shares similar management types are able to understand and appreciate
the traits and characteristics of other company, while differences allow the company to explore
new an experience in the society.
