    MEMORANDUM

    FOR: Chief, Admin Division

    SUBJECT: Job Description (Legal Service Office)

    DATE: 2 September 2020

    1. The following are job descriptions of a personnel in Legal Service Office:

    a. Legal Counseling
    It is the rendition of advice and guidance concerning a legal matter,
    contemplated form of argument, claim, or action related to the management of the
    BFP thru the Chief, BFP.
    b. Assistance in writing or via electronic mail
    It is the act of providing free of charge legal aid to any member of the BFP.
    Legal aid may include the act of making an assessment of the client’s individual
    circumstances, the exercise of professional judgment in applying the law to the
    client’s circumstances, the provision of a range of options to the client on how to
    proceed, and the analyses of those options so as to assist the client to make a
    decision about which option best meets his/her need/s which may include the
    provision of some minor assistance at the discretion of the Chief, Legal Service and
    under the supervision of the Chief, BFP. Legal aid will be given provided that the
    matter is related to the official duties and functions of the client.
    c. Legal Assistance to walk-in clients
    It is the act of providing free of charge legal aid to any member of the BFP.
    Legal aid may include the act of making an assessment of the client’s individual
    circumstances, the exercise of professional judgment in applying the law to the
    client’s circumstances, the provision of a range of options to the client on how to
    proceed, and the analyses of those options so as to assist the client to make a

    d. Review and evaluation of incoming documents together with its attachments

    e. Recording of request in the logbook for proper documentation

    f. Endorsement of the request together with its attachments to the Chief, Legal
    Service
    g. Drafting of documents / Legal researching / Case verification

    h. Checking, finalizing, and recommending the draft of the necessary document/s.
