Theme 11: SACRAMENTS
Competencies:
Lead the students to the appreciation of the significance and graces they
received in the sacraments of Christ and let them understand that they are also
the channel of God’s graces and the Good News of the beauty of the different
sacraments
Napangangatwiranan na ang pagsisikap ng bawat tao na makamit at mapanatili
ang kabutihang panlahat sa pamamagitan ng pagpapahayag at pagsasabuhay
ng moral na pagpapahalaga ay mga puwersang nagpapatatag sa lipunan.

LESSON 11: (CI)SACRAMENTS, Efficacious Signs

DAY 1: HUMAN EXPERIENCE

GENERAL INSTRUCTION
1. Read the competencies and the objectives per Lesson Meeting before you
proceed to answer the activity.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this module, the students are expected to:
1. Understand why sacraments are described as efficacious signs.
2. Strive to be a sign of God’s love to others.
3. Pray to the Holy Spirit for the grace to witness to the love of Christ.

PRAYER

Thank you dear Lord for instituting the sacraments and entrusting the Church as a
channel of your love. We do believe that these are you visible rites seen as signs and
efficacious channels of the grace of God to all those who receive them with the proper
disposition. AMEN!

INTRODUCTION

1. Why do we consider the sacraments as efficacious sign.


Because it is the work of god and god always have good plan for us.
2. Enumerate and explain each sacrament
 Baptism.- it’s a symbol that you follow god and accepting jesus Christ into your life
 Eucharist.- it rempresent the body and blood of god
 Confirmation.- it means that you fully accept jesus Christ into your life
 Reconciliation.- this is when you confess your sin to jesus and he help us take it away
and become a better person
 Anointing of the sick.- to have special grace on Christians going through deadly
illnesses and old age.
 Marriage. - a formal union and social and legal contract between two individuals that
unites their lives legally, economically, and emotionally.
 Holy orders.-  priests and deacons are ordained and receive the power and grace to
perform their sacred duties.
LEARNING ACTIVITIES
Read and analyze the article entitled “AMAZING TECHNOLOGY , AMAZING
MIND” in your grade 9 Catechesis book on Page 115.
Answer the activity Think it Over numbers 1-4 on Page 116.

INTEGRATION
In this current situation of Pandemic. What is your greatest blessing/s coming from
God? Why?
The blessing of still having my family because thanks to god he protects us from any
harm and we are still a whole family.

REFLECTION
As a grade 9 student, how can you contribute to the society knowing the significant
lesson of Amazing Technology and mind?
By using it right and using it for good intentions

Module 2: GOSPEL STORY

1. Identify the different miraculous works of Jesus.
2. Deepen one’s faith to Jesus through His miraculous works.
3. Evangelize and share the miraculous healing power of JESUS to others

PRAYER
Think, O' God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard.
that no healing is too hard if it be Your will. We therefore pray that You bless our friend with
Your loving care, renew his/her strength, and heal what ails him/her in Your loving name.

INTRODUCTION
The student will reflect on how blessed they are. As he/she close his/her eyes, find time
to realize all the graces and blessing they have received including the good health they
receive especially during this pandemic.

1. Why is good health a blessing?


It is a blessing because having agood health means a long and happy life
2. How do we take care of this good health given by God to us?
Taking care of our body always think before actions so that our body is always in good
shape

Let us Reflect: Answer the following questions:

1.What are the three incidents of healing narrated in the text from the gospel of
Matthew?
 He healed demon possessed persons, beggars, lepers, women suffering from incurable diseases,
and those who were racially discriminated against by the Jews.
2. How did Jesus heal those who were sick?
He touched and prayed for them
3. Why are sacraments described as “efficacious signs”?
Because Christ made them and Christ will always lead into a good life
4.What happens when a sacrament is celebrated?
It continue our relationship with god longer and to stay connected.

PRAYER TO ST. FAUSTINA


Our Lord also granted You a Great privilege telling You to distribute graces as You will,
to whom You will, and when You will. Relying on this I ask Your intercession for the
graces I need especially…. Help me above all to trust in Jesus as You did and thus to
glorify His mercy every moment of my life, Amen.

INTRODUCTION

 What does St. Faustina want to impart to us? How do we respond to

 SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION – I will try my best not to commit the sins


I already confessed.
 SACRAMENT OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST – I will receive the Body of Christ with respect
and in the right way.

1. Read and answer the activities on pages 123-125 : I Live Jesus’ Message
Checking will follow next meeting.

REFLECTION
Write inside the heart at least five(5) things you will do for a week to show that you are
faithful to Jesus.
