Course Rationale:
Having done a course in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Business Analytics (BA), this course aims to bring
out contemporary and ‘advanced’ issues in Supply Chain Management and how analytics interventions are sought
at various stages using technology levers for insights and effective decision making at managerial level related to
day to day operations such as production scheduling, inventory management, project management etc.

Course Objectives:
1. To highlight the importance of analytics techniques (prescriptive) in making operations and supply chain
related decisions.
2. To provide hands on training to the students regarding implementation of operations related analytics
techniques using Excel Solver
3. Learn how to apply frameworks and models to contextualize and configure a supply chain
4. Build a comprehensive understanding of supply chain measures and be able to choose a set of performance
measures based on the need and the purpose
5. Understand the basic concept and scope of supply chain reporting and dashboards
6. Build a conceptual understanding of supply chain data, data sources, and data acquisition technologies
7. Learn how analytics tools are applied in various supply chain scenarios and be familiar with modern
technology levers

Learning Outcomes:
Ability to make better decisions related to

1. Understanding of supply chain data (intrinsic and extrinsic)

2. Analyze and Evaluate Supply chain models in ordering & queuing
3. Application of analytics and technology levers in modern supply chains
4. Selecting and contextualizing supply chain performance measures
5. Create Supply chain dash-boards
