ATTENTION: Before installing, read the instructions and
recommendations contained in the manual. Equipment must be installed and used in accordance with these instructions. The device is designed for installation in motor vehicles with 12-volt electrical system and equipped III. DESCRIPTION OF MODULE OUTPUTS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS with CAN bus data with support of OBD2 standard. The device must be connected to 12V and negative terminals grounded. The manufacturer PIN FUNCTION OUTPUT DESCRIPTION and retailer are not responsible for any damages resulting from improper Input CAN BUS H (2-wire CAN BUS system) installation, use, operation or control of the product differently from the 1 CAN H instructions for use. Incorrect repairs of the device or its handling impose risk Input CAN BUS (1-wire CAN BUS system) of damage to the device or vehicle power supply and loss of guarantees. For proper operation and flawless product, we recommend installation by a 2 CAN L Input CAN BUS L (2-wire CAN BUS system) professional service. Speed under +12V LOW the output is activated when the vehicle 3 switching SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 10 km/h 100 mA speed does not exceed 10km/h KEETEC TAXICAN module is designed for vehicles equipped with CAN bus supported by OBD2 standard and 12V supply voltage. It serves to convert the 4 Vehicle speed +12V PWM 7200 Speed signal output digital signal from the data bus to analog outputs which are equivalent to actual 1km/h = 2Hz 100 mA (7200 impulses per 1km) speed of the vehicle. More precisely, the actual speed of a vehicle is converted not used from km per hour to impulse per second in three ratio of conversion. 5 not connected - - NC Moreover, TAXICAN module is providing information about status of ignition* 6 not connected - - NC not used and low speed status signal. A detailed list of analog outputs is contained in this Speed under (-) LOW the output is activated when the vehicle manual 7 10 km/h 100 mA switching speed does not exceed 10km/h * Information about ignition is based on the OBD2 communication through the vehicle data link. The module connects to the ignition and the communication control is carried out within Sound signal- (-) approximately 2 s after the power supply is activated, the activation of the output is slightly 8 - Buzzer ing 100 mA delayed. Therefore, the possibility to use this function must be verified on a particular vehicle! 9 Ground (-) ground (-) i. CONFIGURATION After installation of TAXICAN module inside a vehicles is necessary to configure it. Vehicle speed (-) 1800 Speed signal output The configuration of the module starts automatically after following the steps in 10 PWM 1km/h = 0.5Hz 100 mA (1800 impulses per 1km) the instructions. +12V The OBD2 communication is success, Configuration procedure 11 Ignition 500 mA permanent ignition is on* - turn off the ignition - connect TAXICAN module to vehicle (Connect the module to the ignition and Vehicle speed (-) 7200 Speed signal output make sure that the CAN bus wires are correctly connected) 12 PWM 1km/h = 2Hz 100 mA (7200 impulses per 1km) - turn on the ignition (the module LED might be flashing) - press the button on the module, until the LED light on (maxi 5 seconds). +12 V - release the button. Now, configuration starts automatically. 13 Power Ignition - if configuration process was successful, the LED will be flashing 3 times per module (From KL15) second, or will be on for a few seconds (the first 2 seconds after powering can be permanently shine), indicating that speed information is being received. WIRING DIAGRAM Note: If an external diagnostics is connected, CAN bus communication from TAXI orange/green CAN has to interrupted. To switch the communication off, turn off and turn on Input CAN H ignition 5 times in a row, where one switch-on time will not exceed 5 seconds.
