How to activate
photoTAN
6 steps to the
photoTAN process!
The time has come: after deciding to use the new
photoTAN process, you have now received the
activation letter with your personal activation graphic.

You need this graphic to activate the reader or smart-


phone app that you wish to use for the photoTAN
process.

If you have not yet ordered a reader, you can do so via


the Corporate Banking portal under the “Administra-
tion” tab or order one from your Relationship Manager.
Alternatively, you can use your smartphone with the
photoTAN app already installed.*

charge from the App Store and in the Play Store.

Speak to your Relationship Manager or specialists


Step 1:
Please go to www.corporates.commerzbank.com
and login with your subscriber number/registration
name and PIN (these will have been sent to you
separately when you first registered for the Corporate
Banking portal).

Step 2:
Click on the “Administration” tab and choose
“photoTAN”. Then select the field “Activate”.
Step 3:
Activate your reader or photoTAN app and scan the
activation graphic from your letter. After you have
successfully scanned it, you will receive confirmation
on your reader or smartphone. Now press “Continue”.

Step 4:
Now scan the photoTAN graphic shown on your
computer monitor with your reader or smartphone.
Step 5:
Your first photoTAN will now appear on the reader or
on your smartphone. Now enter this photoTAN in your
Corporate Banking portal in the photoTAN input
field at the bottom of the activation screen and then
confirm with “Continue”.

Step 6:
Confirm in the reader or photoTan app that you have
entered the photoTAN in the Corporate Banking
portal. The activation is now complete and you can
carry out your banking transactions using the new
photoTAN process.

• 
Please keep the letter with the activation graphic
in a safe place because you can also use it for later
device activations (readers/apps).
• 
The photoTAN app can be obtained only from the
following places: App Store or Play Store.
• 
Only enter the photoTAN in the Corporate Banking
portal if the order data shown exactly matches the
data you have entered.
• 
Do not give your reader/smartphone to anyone else
and do not leave it unattended.
• 
If you sell or lend someone your smartphone, dein-
stall or deactivate the photoTAN app beforehand.
You can also do this retrospectively in the Corporate
Banking portal under the tab “Administration” >
“photoTAN” > “Device administration”.
• 
If you lose your reader/smartphone or in the event of
theft, please deactivate the relevant device immedi-
ately in the Corporate Banking portal under the tab
“Administration” > “Block” > “Block photoTAN”
