Changing a temporary password and Multi-Factor

Authentication (MFA) setup for a Newcomer


To change a temporary password and setup MFA, please follow the steps below:
1. Install the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device based on your operating system:

2. Go to the password.epam.com portal, in the upper right corner, click Manage account, and login with the temporary
credentials. In the Update your password window, in the Current password field, enter your temporary password, and
in the relevant fields, enter and confirm the new password, and click Sign in.
NOTE! For the first login, you can get a temporary password from your HR or Resource Manager.

3. On the password.epam.com portal, on the personal account page that appeared, in the Configure Microsoft MFA
section, click Configure. In the More information required window, click Next.

4. To configure Microsoft MFA, in the Start by getting the App window, click Next. In the Set up your account window,
click Next. In the Scan the QR Code window, DO NOT click Next until the QR code has been scanned. Go to Step 5.
NOTE! If your QR code was expired, click Back, and then Next. A new QR code will be generated and displayed.
NOTE! If you perform the setup from your mobile device, on the Set up your account in the app screen, to add your
account to the app, click Pair your account to the app by clicking this link (see the screenshot below marked with ).

5. To scan the QR code, on your mobile device, use the Microsoft Authenticator app:
a. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.
b. Tap I agree.
c. In the upper right corner, tap Skip.
d. On a device, in the upper right corner, tap “+”.
e. Select Work or school account.
f. Tap Scan QR code to use the code displayed on your computer.

6. After scanning the QR code, click Next. A notification for confirmation will be sent to your Microsoft Authenticator app.

7. To verify signing in to the Microsoft Authenticator app, on your mobile device, tap Approve, and on your computer,
click Next. Then, to finish the setup of the Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication method, click Done.

NOTE! On some smartphone models, the Application Lock option may prevent requests from being approved. In case
you face such a difficulty, it is recommended to disable the Application Lock option.
To do this, perform the following actions:
- For Apple iOS devices: Click “☰” > Settings > disable the App Lock option.
- For Google Android devices: Click “⋮” > Settings > disable the Application Lock option.
NOTE! You can additionally check if the MFA has been added by going to the Security info tab on the Microsoft Portal
(https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info).
All authorization methods are available on the Microsoft Portal. Please pay attention that deleting of an email is NOT
desirable.
