Materials required
Patterns start with the Magic Ring, if you are not comfortable using this technique
then substitute it for Chain 3, the work stitches in the first chain.
Some patterns are worked in continuous rounds, others are worked in rows,
please check each pattern for method used
When working in continuous rounds it is advised to use a stitch marker in the first
stitch of each round to help keep track of where the rounds start and end
Numbers written in ( ) at end of each round is total stitch count for that round
rep = repeat
Stitches used
sc – Single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
slp st – Slip stitch
sc2tog – Single crochet 2 together (insert hook into front loop of each of the next 2
stitches, yarn over and pull through those loops, leaving 2 loops on hook, yarn
over and pull through both loops)
flo – front loops only
blo – back loops only
sc join – with slip knot on hook, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through,
making 2 loops on hook, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook

Lets get started...
Crochet Apple
3.5mm hook
red or green yarn for apple
small amount of brown yarn for stalk
Don’t worry if your apple isn't looking very round at this point, it will start to take
shape later on.
You can start stuffing at this point, adding a little more stuffing every few rounds,
make sure to stuff well, ensuring the stuffing cannot be seen from the outside.
Round 14. *1sc in the next 4 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (30)
Round 15. 1sc in each stitch around (30)
Round 16 . *1sc in the next 3 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (24)
Round 17. *1sc in the next 2 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (18)
Round 18 and 19. 1sc in each stitch around (18)
Round 20. *1sc in the next stitch, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (12)
Round 21. sc2tog 6 times (6)
Fasten off and leave a long tail end for sewing up.
Thread tail end onto yarn needle, weave through remaining 6 stitches and pull
closed.
Push needle all the way through the apple and out the bottom, pull a little to create
a dimple in the top where the stalk will be placed, place needle back through
apple ( a few stitches to the side of where it came out) back up to the top and pull
to create a dent in the bottom on the apple as well. Use your fingers to help shape
the apple how you want it. Tie off the yarn at the top and hide tail end inside your
apple.
Thread tail onto yarn needle, place stalk in dimple made at top of apple and push
the needle all the way down to the bottom, move needle over a couple of stitches
at bottom and push back through apple to top, tie onto bottom of stalk, fasten off
and hide tail end in body of apple.
Pear
3.5mm hook and green yarn
small amount of brown yarn for the stalk
Stuff and shape the base of your pear, remember to stuff firmly, add more stuffing
after every few rounds.
Round 20. *1sc in the next 4 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (30)
Round 21. 1sc in each stitch around
Round 22. *1sc in the next 3 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (24)
Round 23 – 24. 1sc in each stitch around (24)
Round 24. *1sc in the next 2 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (18)
Round 25. *1sc in the next stitch, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (12)
Round 26. sc2tog 6 times (6)
Fasten off with a long tail end. Thread tail end onto yarn needle, weave through
last stitches and pull closed, hide yarn end inside pear.
For the stalk follow the pattern from the apple stalk. Sew stalk onto top of pear
only and hide the tail end inside the pear
Orange
3.5mm hook
orange yarn
small amount of green for the top.
Round 1. 6sc in MR
Round 2. working in FLO, 1sc in each stitch (6)
Round 3. 2sc in each stitch around (12)
Round 4. *1sc in the next stitch, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around (18)
Round 5. *1sc in the next 2 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around
(24)
Pause here, using a small amount of green yarn and the yarn needle, make a little
star shape on the outside of the orange, using the original 6sc as a guide (see pic),
fasten off and return to the orange.
Round 6. *1sc in the next 3 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around

Round 7. 1sc in each stitch around (30)
Round 8. *1sc in the next 4 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around

Start stuffing and shaping your orange, adding more stuffing every few rounds
Round 14. *1sc in the next 5 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (36)
Round 15. 1sc in each stitch around (36)

Round 17. 1sc in each stitch around (30)

Fasten off leaving a tail end, weave through the final 6 stitches and pull closed,
weave tail end inside the orange.
Sandwiches
4mm yarn
off white/cream/light brown for sandwich (your choice)
small amount of yellow (cheese), pink (ham), red (jam) or any other filling colour
of your choice
Row 1. chain 19, sc in the second chain from hook, 1sc in each chain to end,
chain 1 and turn (18)
Row 2 – 18. sc in each stitch across, chain 1 and turn
Fold your square in half, corner to corner and using this as a guide make a chain
in your filling colour that will match the length of your sandwiches side, double this
chain number and add 2 extra chains for example:
chain 28, 1sc in second chain from hook, 1sc in each of the next 12 chains, 2sc in
the next chain, 1sc in the last 13 chains.
Line up four L shape between your sandwich layers and stitch along one side to
the corner, add a small amount of stuffing the continue to sew down the second
side, fasten off and weave in your tail end.
You can make your sandwich bigger or smaller by adjusting the starting
chain and the number of rows, as long as you finished product is a square
Aubergine/Eggplant
3.5mm hook
purple colour close to that of an aubergine
green for the top
Round 1. 6sc in MR
Round 2. 2sc in each stitch around (12)

Start stuffing and shaping your aubergine, adding extra stuffing every few rounds

the following rounds of decreases are done differently, decreases are done all on
one side to help create the bend in the aubergine
Round 21. 1sc in each of the next 30 stitches, sc2tog 4 times, sc in the last 4
stitches (38)
Round 22 – 26. 1sc in each stitch around (38)
Round 27. 1sc in each of the next 30 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the last 4
stitches. (36)
Round 28 – 29. 1sc in each stitch around (36)
The following decrease rounds are done with the decreases spread evenly.
Round 30. *1sc in the next 4 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (30)

This is where we will form the leaf type part that hangs over the top of the
aubergine, there will be 6 of these by the end
Leaf 2. sc join yarn to the next sc along the circle, sc in the next 4 stitches, chain
1, turn (5)
1sc in each stitch, chain 1, turn (5)
sc2tog, 1sc, sc2tog, chain 1, turn (3)
1sc in each stitch, chain 1, turn (3)
1sc, sc2tog, chain 1, turn (2)
sc2tog and fasten off
Sew green leaf in place on the top of the aubergine, you can use pins to help hold
this in place while you sew, try and line the centre up with the hole we left in the
top of the aubergine.
Spring Onions
3mm hook
white/ light green/ dark green yarn
Round 1. 6sc in MR
Round 2. 2sc in each stitch around (12)
Round 3. *1sc in next stitch, 2sc in next stitch *, rep from * to * around (18)
Cut a few lengths (4 or 5) of white yarn, approx 3-4 inches long. Tie them together
at one end and thread through the centre hole of your circle so they stick out what
will become the bottom. Leave them hanging loose and we will come back to
them later.
Round 4. *1sc in the next 2 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around
(24)
Round 5. *1sc in the next 3 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around

Round 6 – 9. 1sc in each stitch around (30)

Round 23. Working in FLO, *1sc in the next stitch, chain 21, 1hdc in the second
chain from hook, 1hdc in each chain back down, 1sc in the next stitch of the
previous row, 1sc in the next stitch, chain 26, 1hdc in the second chain from hook,
1hdc in each chain back down, 1sc in the next stitch of the previous row, 1sc in
the next stitch, chain 31, 1hdc in second chain from hook, 1hdc in each chain
back down, 1sc in the next stitch of the previous row*
Rep from * to * 1 more time
Round 24, Working in BLO of previous round, sc2tog 6 times to close up the hole,
fasten off leaving a long tail, weave through the last 6 stitches, pull to close and
weave in your tail end
Tomato
3.5mm hook
Red and Green yarn
Round 8. *1sc in the next stitch, chain 7, work 1sc in the second chain from hook
and 1sc in each chain back down (total of 6 sc along the chain), 1sc in the next
stitch of previous round * rep from * to * around
You should now have 9 ‘leaf’ sections, Fasten off leaving a tail end for sewing.
Place the leaf section over the top of the tomato and sew in place, use pins to help
align it if needed.
Sew only the circle section, leaving the leaf parts to curl/hang loose and take their
own shape.
Lettuce
4mm
Green yarn
The lettuce centre is a ball, with leaves made individually then sewn on around
the bottom.
The first round of leaves is comprised of 3, and the second round uses 4 leaves,
placed to slightly overlap each other.
If you want to make your lettuce bigger add and extra rounds of leaves to suit
Ball
Round 1. 9sc in MR
Round 2. 2sc in each stitch around (18)
Round 3. *1sc in the next stitch, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around (27)
Round 4 – 5. 1sc in each stitch around (27)
Round 6. *1sc in the next 2 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around
(36)
Round 7 – 9. 1sc in each stitch around (36)
Start stuffing and shaping your ball, adding extra stuffing as you go
Round 10. 1sc in the next 2 stitches, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (27)
Round 11 – 12. 1sc in each stitch around (27)
Round 13. 1sc in the next stitch, sc2tog *, rep from * to * around (18)
Round 14. sc2tog 6 times (9)
Fasten off, weave tail end through hole and pull closed, hide tail end inside ball
Leaves
Make 7 (or more if required)
Follow ball pattern up to Round 6
Round 7. 1sc in each stitch around
Round 8. 1sc in the next 22 stitches, 3sc in each of the next 14, slip stitch to first
sc and fasten off
place the leaves around the base of the ball, use pins to help hold in place and
sew along the bottom curves.
Add the next layer, overlapping the previous leaves and sewin place.
Cookies
3.5mm hook
Brown and White yarn
Each cookie is made of 3 layers. 2 brown and 1 white. All layers are made the
same way
Join end of each round with a slip stitch
Chain at start of round does not count as a stitch
Leave a long tail end on 1 of your brown pieces to sew it all together.
Weave in all other tail ends before assembling your cookies.
Sandwich 1 white piece between the 2 brown pieces and sew through the top
loops of all 3 pieces all the way around, fasten off and hide the tail end inside the
cookie

Round 3. *1sc in the next stitch, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around (18)
Round 4. *1sc in the next 2 stitches, 2sc in the next stitch *, rep from * to * around

Fasten off leaving a tail end, do not sew up the hole at this point
Don’t worry if you cookie is looking a little funny shaped, we will smooth it out and
flatten it once the chocolate chips are added.
Take a length of dark brown yarn and thread it through the hole in the cookie. Sew
over stitches in a random order to make the chips, do this on both sides of you
cookie. Fasten off and hide tail inside the cookie.
Now go back to the cookie and use the tail end to weave the last 6 stitches and
pull closed. Weave tail end in and your done.
