My Motorcycle
I have a favorite motorcycle. My father bought it for me when I was in Senior High School. This is the
only motorcycle that I have right now, but even if one day I buy another one, this one will always be my
favorite, because there are so many things happened with me and this motorcycle. For me, it is irreplaceable.
The type of my favorite motorcycle is underbones. If you are familiar with various types of
motorcycles, then I believe you can imagine what my motorcycle looks like. The dominant color of my
motorcycle is red. It has spoke wheels type of rim and standard tire. The original rearview mirror was broken
and I replace it with a smaller one. Last year I replace the original shock absorber with the new one. The
color of the new shock absorber is black. A very distinctive part of my motorcycle is the seat. It is because I
modified it a little bit from the original shape. The seat of my motorcycle is so long so it can accommodate
two persons. I decided to add some foam rubber on it, start from the middle part of the seat up to the back
part. It makes the back part of the seat to be higher than the front part and cause a border which separated the
driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat.
24. What is the writer’s intention in writing the text?

TULIP

Tulips grow from 10 to 70 centimeters tall. They can even grow in the cold and snowy winter. They
have 2 to 6 leaves. Some species can have up to 12 leaves. The stems have no leaves to a few leaves, with
large species having some leaves and smaller species have none. Typically species have one flower per stem
but a few species have three to four flowers. The colourful and attractive cup shaped flowers typically have
three petals and three sepals which are mostly termed as tepals because they are nearly identical.

Although tulips are associated with the Netherlands, commercial cultivation of the flower began in
Ottoman Empire. The word tulip is derived from Persian language dulband (turban).

Tulips are indigenous to mountainous areas with temperate climates. They grow well in climates with long
cool springs and early summers, but are often grown as spring blooming annual plantings in warmer areas of
the world. The bulbs are usually planted, in well-drained soils. In parts of the world that do not have long cool
spring and early summers, the bulbs are planted up to 12 inches deep. These provide some protection from the

years.
