Cashier – JOB DESCRIPTION

REPORTS TO: THE MANAGER ON DUTY

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cashier is responsible for greeting every Guest that enters their Fuddruckers location. They
are the first person the Guest comes into contact with therefore one of the most important
positions in the restaurant. They set the tone for the entire dining experience. They must be
professional, personable, mastered in menu knowledge, know the current promotions, and offer
all of this to every Guest without fail. The Fuddruckers Cashier has a genuine of-service
attitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 Provide excellent Guest service and greets Guests immediately upon arrival with a smile
 Listen to the Guests and take their orders, suggestively sell items, repeat their order
back for accuracy, directs Guests to the produce and drink bar, and count back change
efficiently, quickly, and without error
 Use of the company’s point of sale system to take the Guest’s order
 Proper cash handling procedures are followed
 Acknowledges and invites back departing Guests
 Extensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients and promotions
 Well versed with pager system and shake delivery system
 Answer the telephone to assist Guests with concerns and to go orders
 Handle complaints as necessary
 Follow company, local, state and federal alcohol regulations
 Maintain a clean and stocked work area
 Follows Fuddruckers safety and sanitation procedures
 Follow all Cashier – Job Responsibilities as listed in Training material
 Any other tasks deemed necessary by management

CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


 Demonstrates basic math skills
 Ability to speak, read and write the English language
 Must possess excellent Guest service and verbal communication skills
 Outgoing personality
 Comfortable suggesting items to Guests
 Must maintain a positive and upbeat attitude
 Must report to work on time in a company approved uniform
 Professional appearance required (see uniform standards)
 Ability to count back change
 Problem solver that has the ability to adapt and overcome
 Ability to multitask
 Must be a team player with a high sense of urgency
 Ability to cross train in other areas as needed
 Activities include, but are not limited to, walking or standing for 6 to 8 hours at a time,
reaching, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, talking, and sitting
