Story 01: The Dove and the Tortoise

Once upon a bee felt very thirsty. It went to a nearby stream to

drink water. While drinking water it fell into the stream. The bee tried
hard to come out of the water but failed. Just on that time a dove was
flying nearby. She saw the bee in the water. She plucked a large leaf
and dropped it into the water close to the bee. The bee climbed on the
leaf, dried its wings and flew to its destination safely.
A few days later the bee saw a hunter having a gun in his hand.
He was taking aim of the same dove. The bee remembered the favour of
the dove and thought of returning the favour. She flew towards the
hunter and stung him on the hand. The hunter missed the shot and the
dove flew away.
Moral: Do Good and have Good.

Story 02: The farmer and his sons

Once there lived an old farmer in a village. He had three sons
who always quarreled with each other. The farmer advised them not to
quarrel but all in vain.
He was very much worried about his sons. At last when the
farmer realised that his end was near, he wanted to teach them a lesson.
He sent his servant and ordered him to bring a bundle of sticks. When a
bundle was brought, he asked his sons one by one to break the bundle.
All his sons tried to break the bundle but failed. The farmer then untied
the bundle and asked them to break the sticks one by one.
Everyone broke the sticks easily. The farmer then advised them
if they stay united, no one would harm them. This example had a good
effect on them and they lived with unity and never quarreled with each
other.
Moral: Union is strength

Story 03: The Hare and the Tortoise
Once a hare and tortoise lived near a pond in a forest. They were
good friends. The hare was very proud of his speed. He thought that no
one could defeat him in race. He always laughed at the slow speed of
his friend. The tortoise could not bear it anymore.
One day the hare thought of playing a joke with the tortoise. He
asked the tortoise to run a race with him. The tortoise accepted the
challenge. They agreed to run a race to a certain tree.
When the race started, the hare ran as fast as he could. Very
soon he went out of sight. On his way the hare saw a shady tree. The
hair decided to take some rest under the tree. He soon fell asleep.
During this time the tortoise kept on crawling slowly and
steadily. In his way he saw the hare sleeping under the tree and passed
through him. After a while the tortoise reached the winning post. When
the hare woke up, he ran fast towards the winning post. He felt ashamed
to see the tortoise already sitting there. He lost the race and did not
laugh again at the tortoise for his low speed.
Moral: slow and steady wins the race.

Story 04: The Angel and The woodcutter
Once a poor woodcutter was cutting wood on the bank of a
river. Suddenly his axe fell into the river. The woodcutter became very
sad. He sat at the bank of the river with broken heart.
Meanwhile an angel appeared before him. The angel took pity
on the poor woodcutter and dived into the water. The angel brought out
a golden axe. The woodcutter said that it was not his axe. The angel
dived again and brought out silver axe. But the woodcutter refused to
take it. The Angel dived again for the third time and brought out an iron
axe. The woodcutter overjoyed when he saw his own axe.
The Angel was greatly impressed and pleased at the honesty of
the woodcutter. It gave all the three axes to the woodcutter as a reward
for his honesty.
Moral: Honesty is the best policy

Story 04: A Foolish Deer
Once a deer went to a stream for drinking water. The stream
water was clear. It could see its reflection in the water. It felt proud of
its beautiful horns. But when it saw the shadow of its thin legs, it felt
sad and hated them.
While it was still thinking of its ugly legs, it heard the sound of
a lion running towards it. It ran for its life as fast as its legs could carry
it. In no time it left the lion far behind.
When it was passing through a thick forest, its horns got caught
in the branches of trees and bushes. It struggled hard to free itself but all
in vain. Meanwhile the lion reached it and killed it. The legs it hated
had carried it way from the lion while the beautiful horns brought about
its death.
Moral: All that glitters is not gold
