Carefully read the following instructions as well as the most recent “General Safety
Notes” (TD00-000.860.01.xx.02) and “Safety Information” (CT02-021.860.01.xx.02)
before replacing PHS parts!
Note and follow all safety guidelines indicated in this document.
Ensure compliance with torque requirements as well as the use of Loctite.
The type and sequence of application for screws, bolts, nuts and washers must be followed.
Secure all wires and cables with cable ties or cable clamps at the locations indicated.
Ensure that cables are routed and secured in accordance with the original specifications.

NOTE Destruction of electrostatically sensitive devices (ESD).

Electrostatically sensitive devices may be destroyed when
touching them (even if they are still installed).
=> Follow C-Mos (ESD) guidelines (e.g. wear wrist band with
ground strap before touching ESD parts).

WARNING [ hz_serdoc_F13G01U13M01 ]
Inappropriately performed service may lead to serious injury
or loss of life as well as to mechanical or electrical damage.
Risk of damage and injury!
¹ Only specially trained personnel is authorized to per-
form service on the CT system.

WARNING [ hz_serdoc_F13G01U05M03 ]
Dangerous voltages (up to 560 VDC) are present when the
system is switched on. Dangerous voltages (up to 560 VDC)
may be present even when the system is switched off due to
capacity power.
Risk of electric shock!
¹ Observe power-off instructions and discharge wait
times (allow at least five minutes discharge time after
the last scan for all involved HV and UDC parts).
¹ Secure the system against unintended switch-on (e.g.
block breaker against switching on and/or mark
breaker against switch on).
¹ Ensure via measurements that all voltages are
switched off.
¹ Connect the stationary and rotating parts of the gantry
to a protective conductor prior to working in the gantry.

CAUTION [ hz_serdoc_F13G01U02M01 ]
Only approved service tools should be used during replace-
ment and troubleshooting.
Risk of injury!
¹ Use only approved tools.

Segment covers (table base) 2.1

Prerequisites 0

• The power to the couch must be switched ON.

• Vertical movement must be enabled via service switch (S703).
• Couch should be in the lowest vertical position for easy removal of the segment cover
assembly from the tabletop.

Tools and auxiliary equipment

• Standard service tools

Time and manpower

• 1 person
• 10 minutes

Preparation 0

• Lower the couch to the lowest vertical position via service switches (S701 / S702)
(1/Fig. 3 / p. 13)

NOTE The lowest vertical couch position can be reached via the
service switches only! All other operating buttons will stop
the couch approx. 50 mm before lowest position due to
safety reasons.

6. Remove all 8 screws from the last (base) cover segments since they are mounted
directly to the base of the couch.
7. Slightly lift each cover segment over the foot pedals to remove it.

Installing 0

1. Install all cover segments in the reverse order.

2. Lower the couch to lowest position via service switches.
3. Mount the segment cover assembly to the tabletop via the metal mounting brackets
(one Allen screw each at front and back). (1/Fig. 4 / p. 14) / (1/Fig. 5 / p. 14)

NOTE Assure that the pins at the mounting bracket are correctly
aligned with the corresponding holes before tightening the
screws.

Final steps 0

Mechanical
• Lift the couch via service switches to the highest position and lower it back to the lowest
position.
¹ Listen for any abnormal noise from the covers and check if the segments are
being correctly guided.
• Switch OFF the service switch (S703) and install the cover over the service switch ter-
minal.

Test
• Check the vertical couch movement via the corresponding buttons at the gantry operat-
ing panel.

Adjustment of the potentiometer R711

• Ensure that the tabletop plate is fully retracted to the back mechanical end position
(zero position).
• Turn the axle of the potentiometer (at the toothed wheel) in a clockwise (CW) direction
(viewed from the axle side) until the end stop is reached.
• Then turn the potentiometer axle back in a counterclockwise (CCW) direction. Adjust-
ment value see table below. The kOhm value for the zero position must be adjusted.
The other values are only for checking of potentiometer function.

The table contains only approximately values for orientation. Therefore tolerances
are not specified.
