    EXCELLENT PRACTICES OF THE SCHOOL IN THE NEW NORMAL

    To our valued guests, parents, teachers and students, a blessed day


    to all of us!

    Let me begin my speech by sharing with you this wonderful quotation


    from Henry Ford, he said “Obstacles are those frightful things you see
    when you take your eyes off your goal.”

    Since last year, our nation has been facing a crisis. This pandemic
    really made a great impact not only in our economy but also in our
    educational system. However, this institution stood strong and
    remained focused in its relentless pursuit of knowledge. Our goal is
    to provide you with quality science education and we are more than
    willing to do whatever it takes to reach our goal even in the midst of
    this pandemic.

    The following are some of the excellent practices of the school in the
    new normal:

    First in the list is blended distance learning. The school decided to


    adopt the Blended Distance Learning as its means in delivering
    quality science education in the new normal. It is a combination of
    online face to face discussion and modular learning which we believe
    is suitable for our students. The teachers are assisting the students in
    answering their modules and giving them additional information
    regarding the lesson through an online face to face discussion using
    google meet. The students are also enrolled in their respective google
    classrooms where they can take their exams and submit their
    outputs.
    No matter how hard the school may try to provide the students with
    adequate support, the goal to deliver quality science education to our
    students will not be realized without the help of the parents.
    Parental involvement is important for students’ development. The
    school and the parents work hand in hand in monitoring the
    academic status of the students. The participation of parents in the
    educational process means that teachers and parents share the
    responsibility to teach students and work together to achieve
    educational goals.

    The school is also blessed to have a very supportive PTA officers who
    are always ready and willing to lend a hand. PTA addresses issues
    that are important to parents and the school. they promote peace
    and unity in the entire institution. They engage themselves in all of
    the affairs of the school to help this institution in achieving its goal.

    Even before the class started, the school provided its teachers with
    series of LAC sessions and workshops. The abrupt shift to blended
    distance learning directly challenged the knowledge and skill of our
    teachers. It is a good thing that the teachers are open to upskill
    themselves especially in the digital world. As educators, we saw the
    need to learn, unlearn, and relearn the knowledge, mindsets, and
    skills necessary to succeed in a new normal.

    These are just of the factors why City Sci remained unbeatable in the
    midst of the pandemic. Rest assure that we will continue to provide
    quality science education to your children.
