PART I
1. Download “Running Video for Part 1” video from Blackboard by right-clicking the hyperlink below
the video and selecting “Save Link As.” Copy the video into the Analyzer.
2. Use the distance tool to measure the distance between the 1st and 2nd tennis ball and set the reference
to 2.5 meters.
3. Advance the video and create a still shot and add a marker at first right foot strike.
4. Insert a clock and set it to zero at the point of first right foot contact.
5. Create a still shot and insert a marker at the site of the second right foot strike.
6. Advance to the third right foot strike create another still shot and insert a marker at that point.
7. Use the distance tool to measure stride length. (Measure from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd right foot
strikes)
8. Use time and distance from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd right foot strikes to calculate average
velocity and acceleration. Calculations are to be done on a separate sheet of paper (or below)
and ALL VALUES MUST BE LABELED WITH CORRECT UNITS. Insert calculated average
velocity and acceleration values into a text box on the Analyzer video window.
Velocity = displacement/time
Acceleration = .3/1.43
PART II
1) Solve for:
b) Displacement
5m
12m
a) Distance = 5m + 12m
Distance = 17 meters
8km = 8000m
V = 8000m / 1560s
V = 5.13 m/s
Vi = 20 m/s
Vf = 10 m/s
T = 4 seconds
Vf = 20m/s
T = 5s
4) A train covers 60 miles between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. How fast was it going
at 3 p.m.?
V = d/t
V = 60mi / 2hrs
V = 30 mph

5) I went for a walk one day. I walked north 6.0 km at 6.0 km/h and then
west 10 km at 5.0 km/hr. Determine…
D = 6km + 10km
D = 16km
36 + 100 = c^2
136 = c^2
Displacement = 11.7km
