Through which sense does Keller experience the water?

Keller experiences the water through the sense of touch. Since she is both blind and deaf.
How Do you think has Ms. Sullivan made Hellen understand what love is?

I think Ms. Sullivan made Hellen understand what love is when she taught her about words for
all sorts of things, using finger language, and when she started describing love as a scene of
nature that made Hellen the happiest.

“You cannot touch the clouds, you know … You cannot touch love either; but you feel the
sweetness that it pours into everything. Without love, you would not be happy or want to play.”

Activity 4: Task 1

1. I think what she means by those strange new sights that had come to her are “THE THINGS THAT
MAKE THE WORLD BLOSSOMS” like Aaron’s rod, with flowers. The beautiful sunflower is well-known for
following the path of the sun. From the east in the morning to the west at night, the sunflower repeats
this process each day with the bloom always facing the direction of the sun.

2. She has never since let pass an opportunity to point out the beauty that is in everything, nor has she
ceased trying in thought and action and example to make Helen’s life sweet and useful.

3.It was difficult for Helen to learn the meaning of love because of her deafness and blindness. It puzzled
her very much since she cannot understand anything unless she touched it.

Her teacher helps her to understand the meaning of love by teaching her about words for all sorts of
things, using finger language. By pointing to Helen’s heart and saying “It is here” and describing “love” as
a scene of nature.

4. Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan has been both called miracles because when Anne Sullivan came to
work with Helen Keller, Helen was both blind and deaf. She could not speak and had had little training in
how to behave. That meant that Helen reacted to life more as an animal than a person. Helen's entire
family thought that teaching her was hopeless. They had pretty much given up on her ever being able to
live a normal life. Sullivan, however, believed otherwise. She refused to give up on Helen because, in a
sense, she would be giving up on herself. Sullivan's persistence opened up the lines of communication
with Helen and showed her a new world. She believed not only in Helen but also in herself, and because
of this belief, a miracle occurred. Annie Sullivan not only taught Helen Keller to communicate but also
brings the Kellers closer to each other.

5. The author chooses to tell the story from the “I point of view” because it’s easier to use and she is
writing bout herself. She can immediately connect with the reader and stay in character.
6. If the story was told from Ms. Sullivan’s point of view some parts will change, but the flow of the story
will remain the same.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Absolutely! Rightnow in the world we are in a fight of our lives against the
CORONAVIRUS. It has affected many people all over the world including myself.
I’m now at home everyday and it really is affecting me socially. Not being able to
speak to friends and see people I see in regular basis is hard for me. Especially
now that school is closed from the rest of the year, it has reallyhad an effect on
my student life.I am not used to being at home all the time and working on the
computer. I’m usually in a classroom surrounded by my peers. However, I am
human so I will learn to adapt but for now it is hard.

It has affected me personally in the social and educational aspect, but I know
around the city of manila, cebu and davao its affecting others as wel. In these
three city around the country hit hard by the virus, the pandemic has also
affected the youth. Youth are now forced to stay home instead of going to school
and spending times with friends. Most kids need to be outside and with people to
release their energy and socialize. Now this cannot happen because the virus has
affected us so much. One thing we also see happening is food insecurities and
social distancing. Due to whatis happening in the world, people are very much
afraide and cautious about food supply and interactions with people. People are
afraid and told to stay inside, so they stock up supplies that will last them about a
month. Usually people get stuff that will last them about two weeks, but now we
need to stay home as much as we can.

With social distancing, we now separate ourselves ffrom other parts of society.
This has made me feel very much disconnected from my friends. Humans are
made to be out and socialize with beings on earth. These unfortunateevents have
led many people to be ddisconnected from society. This has allowed my mind
togo to the dark side where my fears come out. My main fear is “How long my life
be on pause”! Im afraid of how long I will be stuck in the house and cant see my
friends. Will be a couple of more weeks or with a couple of months?

The Korean dramas has helped me a lot during this crisis. Just for a couple of days,
im able to forget about the real world and have a good time. This is because one
of my closest friend called me. Our conversation has helped me still talk to
people. Besides my mother also encourages me to go out from our house every
morning and afternoon. To wathc the beauty of nature outside especiallyat
sunset. So I also know for sure it helps other kids through these tough times. This
experience with nature watching in the morning and sunset is helping lighen my
heart through my darkest times.
