respectful learning environment in schools. The country has very limited number
of good schools and the demand is unlimited. This has made parents send their
children abroad at a very young age. As a result, the separation from the family
can have serious repercussions on children’s social and emotional well-being.
Machhapuchchhre School commits itself to educating children differently. The
School values children’s social life and creates an environment to make them
responsible citizens. The purpose of the School is to provide time appropriate
education at affordable fees.

ADMISSIONS
Machhapuchchhre School follows the Government of Nepal's
academic calendar for student enrollment and instruction. Each
classroom comprises of thirty students. The new academic session
begins from mid-April every year.

PROCEDURE
¦ Interested parents can register their child’s name and go on a
school tour.
¦ The prospective parents are invited to a brief orientation on the
school’s approach to education.
¦ Parents submit an application form for admission.
¦ The admission team assess the students’ knowledge,
understanding and skills.
¦ The Principal interviews parents to check their understanding of
the school’s approach to education.
¦ The admission is based on the child’s cognitive ability, social skills
and parents’ willingness to get involved in school life activities.
¦ Within a week, the school will issue an acceptance letter to
confirm admission.

SCHOLARSHIP
PLANS
Machhapuchchhre School is a socially responsible institution. The
school provides scholarships to its children who perform better in
academics and cannot afford the school fees. About twenty percent
of our students get the scholarship. The Scholarship Committee
verifies all applications and submits its recommendations to the School
Management Committee for approval.

Machhapuchchhre School has developed a versatile and balanced curriculum within the
framework of the Nepal Government’s National Curriculum. The school delivers this curriculum
through progressive approach which connects the students’ learning to life and real world. The
school has created learning environment to support the school’s approach to education.

Our computer laboratory has 30 stations with
high-speed broadband connection to the
internet. Students have unlimited access to
the lab for doing course work and personal

CAFETERIA
Fresh and nutritious lunches are served to all students. In
addition, afternoon snacks is provided to the children for
their needs. Meals are prepared under hygienic conditions in
our modern kitchen by trained staff under the direction of a
professional chef.

INFIRMARY
The School takes care of the health condition of the student.
A well-qualified School Nurse provides first aid care to the
children and maintains their health log.

TRANSPORTATION
Machhapuchchhre School provides safe and comfortable
transportation to the students. The School, located hundred
meters away from the Ring Road in Kusunti, Lalitpur, is also
reachable from all parts of the Kathmandu Valley by public
and private transportation.

SUBJECT BRIDGING PROGRAM

The School initiates a separate classroom for
subject bridging program if a child falls behind in
academic achievement. The teacher assists students,
either individually or in small groups, to correct
any inconsistency between grade and academic
achievement in a particular subject.

words-games, drawing, painting, clay works, music, dramatic play,
blocks, outdoor games and so on. Each classroom is led by grade
teacher and assisted by an assistant teacher during activities.

where children enhance their physical and mental health. Children

FUTURE PROGRAMS

Machhapuchchhre School has a viable plan to have 10+ 2 wing from

the Academic Session 2077. The school has done all necessary
preparations for conducting grade 11 within the framework of Nepal’s
Government Curriculum from the new session. It plans to have science
and management streams to begin with. The school will completely adopt
progressive approach to teaching at 10+ 2 level as well, which will be
research based and student centered approach.

The school is also going to have IB Programs (International Baccalaureate)

in immediate near future. It aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and
caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world
through intercultural understanding and respect. The school has already
applied for candidacy for Primary Years Program (PYP), designed for
children from 3 to 12 years of age. The school has a plan of adding MYP
and DP in the days to come as well.
