Objectives
After a successful, enjoyable, and empowering career in the Oil and Gas Industry I have embarked on a new
journey in Transforming my career and combining my 27 years of work related skills and personal financial
knowledge, experience and education towards achieving a position as a Financial Planner.
My objective is to obtain a position within an organisation where I can assist families and individuals achieve
their financial independence through a coordinated and planned process. Assisting them to identify short,
medium and long term financial and lifestyle goals; empower good cash/budget management processes;
identify insurance and estate planning needs; identify and develop financial strategies and solutions in order
to achieve their goals; building financial independence and educate them on the need for a cost effective, tax
efficient, and risk appropriate long term retirement strategy.
I completed my Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning in 2016 and am currently enrolled in the Graduate
Diploma in Financial Planning at Deakin University. I will complete the Diploma in June 2017 which will make
me compliant with the current Australian RG146 Financial Regulations thus allowing me to assist a Financial
Licensee in providing client focused personal financial advice.
Summary
For the last 27 years I have worked in a number of organisations including Large National Oil Companies, small
Independent Oil companies, and Oil Industry service companies, in 7 different countries including the UK, Australia,
and Malaysia. Roles have varied from Geologist, Workflow Consultant, Geomodeller, Senior Geoscientist, Development
Team Lead, and for the last 4 years I have been an Independent Consultant in KL. I have experience across many
areas including planning, coordinating, and managing large engineering/geology development projects. Specific
strengths include Data collection & Analysis, Project Planning, Numerical/statistical Analysis, Strategic Thinking,
Solutions Development, Implementation & Monitoring, and have developed strong and trusted client relationships.
Over these years multiple opportunities have been created and challenges encountered. Through successful
negotiation of these my family and I have now achieved our own financial security. This has occurred not only through
wage income growth but a strong personal drive to understand the myriad of financial aspects of a Globalised Financial
World. Personal financial education, International Security and Investment Property ownership, Budget/Cash
Management, UK/Malaysia/Australia tax knowledge, understanding of Risk/Return and Asset Diversification,
Insurances, and Australia Superannuation. With these skills & experiences, and my current position, I now have both
the opportunity and desire to help others in achieving their own financial security.
