25th Annual Spring SplashTown Choral Festival

May 10th & 11th, 2019

General Information:
The Spring High School Choir Boosters in conjunction with SplashTown Waterpark and Main Event are
sponsoring the 25th annual Spring SplashTown Choral Festival for junior high, middle, elementary, and non-
varsity high school choirs. The dates of the festival are Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, 2019. The purpose
of the festival is to provide young choirs an opportunity to perform for outstanding judges at the end of
the school year. Elementary, middle, and junior high school groups have the option of performing U.I.L.
literature or music of a lighter nature: choirs entering the Open Division have no music restrictions; the
Invitational Division is for U.I.L. music. High schools are automatically in the invitational division.

Category Options for 6th Grade Choirs (Sing Three Selections Without Restrictions):
Sixth Grade Beginning Choir (CCC) Sixth Grade Beginning Choir (C/CC)

Category Options for Elementary Choirs (Sing Three Selections Without Restrictions):
5th/6th Combined Elementary Choir 4th/5th Elementary Choir

Category Options for Non-Varsity High School Choirs (Sing Three Selections):
Non Varsity High School Treble Choir (all classifications)
Non-Varsity High School Tenor-Bass Choir (all classifications)
Non-Varsity High School Mixed Choir (all classifications)
**Music must consist of UIL or UIL-appropriate literature

Ratings:
I - Superior - Trophy Awarded
II - Excellent - Plaque Awarded
III – Fair

Additional awards will be given for Outstanding and 1 s t Runner Up in each classification, provided there are
enough groups within that classification. Some categories may be combined at the adjudication
panel’s discretion for the purpose of awards.

Performances:
Performances will be held in the Spring High School Performing Arts Center. A professional recording will
be provided. Choirs will have a 15 minute warm up time and a 15 minute performance time.
Performance Times:
Performance times will be assigned in order of deposits received.

First Come. First Served:


No phone reservations will be accepted. We will try to schedule your choir performance as close to your
requested time as possible. Please keep your SplashTown plans and accompanist in mind when
requesting a performance time.

SplashTown Water Park:


SplashTown is located 1/2 mile north of Spring High School at 21300 1-45 North in Spring, TX. To reserve an

Main Event:
Main Event is located 8.5 miles north of Spring High School at 19441 I-45 South in Shenandoah, TX. Every
Main Event package includes four hours of bowling, laser tag, pool, shuffleboard, karaoke, a $10 FUNCard,
three slices of pizza, one unlimited fountain drink, and two scoops of gelato. For more information, you can

Group Photo:
Each choir will receive one complimentary photo. Additional photos will be available to order at the Choral
Festival.
Awards Presentation:
First and Second Division Awards will be given at the contest office following your performance. Best in
class and Runner-Up trophies will be awarded at the conclusion of the festival.

Festival Costs:
$31 Performance and Splashtown Ticket OR Main Event Package
$26 Chaperone, Director, & Non-Performing Student Splashtown Ticket OR Main Event Package
$15 Performance Only (No Splashtown or Main Event)
ALL PRICING IS PER PERSON
Each director will receive one complimentary SplashTown admission ticket or Main Event
Package.

Deadline and Financial Obligation Information:


Completed Entry Forms and $200 Non-refundable Deposit per choir are due by
April 19th, 2019 for regular festival entries. Late entries will be accepted as space allows.

Performer and Ticket numbers, full payment and program(s) are due April 19th, 2019 .

SUBJECT TO CHANGE
No refunds will be given for ticket number changes the day of the festival. However, additional
tickets may be purchased through the contest date.

** If you DROP a choir after April 19th, 2019 you will be obligated to pay for the
package selected for that choir and will receive the tickets that you have paid for.
