About nec & Deepak Smriti Cup 2020
Nepal Engineering College was established in 1994 as a not-for-profit social academic institute by
a group of visionary Nepalese professionals and academicians who realized the need of an
institution in the country to provide technical education in areas of engineering and technology
and for rendering easy access of quality technical education to the masses. nec is duly registered
as a not-for-profit social institute at the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur.nec is committed
to preserving its long-earned reputation of “an institution with concerns for quality education and
academic freedom”.
Deepak Smriti Cup 2020 is the first tournament organized by nec in memory of our beloved
Prof.Deepak Sir. Prof. Bhattarai was the founder Principal of Nepal Engineering College (nec) and
led the college in the capacity of Principal and Chairman for over 16 years. He also led teams to
establish Nepal Medical College (NMC) at Attarkhel, Jorpati; Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management
College (NTHMC) at Pokhara and Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT) at Balkumari. He
also is the founder member of KIST Medical College at Lalitpur. More than everything he always
gave importance to the development of technical education in Nepal. This tournament is more over
organized in the remembrance of Prof.Deepak Bhattarai.

PROMOTING VISIT NEPAL 2020
Officially Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal has

announced 2020 as “Visit Nepal Year”. Government of Nepal is working
to ensure the successful tourism year in 2020 and onwards. 2020 Tourism
Year have aimed the target of 2 million tourists’ arrival. Before the
country sees nearly one million tourist visitors. Let us make “visit Nepal
2020” a successful year in the tourism industry.
The ancient Hindu temple of Changu Narayan is located on a high hilltop
that is also known as Changu or Dolagiri. The temple was surrounded by
champak tree forest and a small village known as Changu. The temple is
located in Changunarayan VDC of Bhaktapur District, Nepal.
Changhunarayan temple is just one km away from the nec premisis. So,
the tournament is also encouraged in order to successfully help in running
the campaign “VISIT NEPAL 2020.”
