Republic Act 8293, Section 176 states that no copyright shall subsist in any
work of the Government of the Philippines. However, prior approval of the
government agency or office wherein the work is created shall be necessary for
exploitation of such work for profit. Such agency or office may, among other things,
impose as a condition the payment of royalties.
This learning material hopes to engage the learners in guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs, namely: Communication,
Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Character while taking into
consideration their needs and circumstances.

RECAP
Before we proceed to the lesson proper try just a little review of the discussions
form module 17. The first topic that was discussed was about the marginalized
sector. What is a marginalized group? Why do you think marginalization happen in
a society?
Then the discussion centered on the organization of tribal communities in the
Philippines. What again is the name of that organization? Can you give any of its
programs or advocacies?
There are also two NGOs identified which cater to the welfare of the
disadvantaged children. What are those organizations? Can you compare the two in
terms of their advocacies?

that I can share with the disadvantaged youths in my community? With the help of
the table you will try to figure out the talents or abilities that you have. In the second
column you will indicate how you can share what you have to the disadvantage
youths and in the last column specify what they will gain from that. You can get 5
points for each column.

VALUING
I hope you are devoting some of your precious time reflecting on how much
you’ve gone already in this stage of your life. Although you are in a quarantine and
in effect not allowed to go out it shouldn’t reduce you into irrelevant member of the
community.
Earlier you were asked to do a self-reflection and to figure out how you can
contribute to the cause of the disadvantage youths. While staying in your home for
a long period of time, hopefully you’ve done your part in keeping stability in your
household. But what about the people outside your home, in your community or
your circle of friends? Have you tried doing something to help them cope with
challenges during these trying times?
