E. LESSON PROPER
 Activity
 Group Activity
Mechanics:
 Each group will be given a jumbled letters
 The teacher will show a projected image that will serve as a clue.
 When they have an answer on the task; one member of the group will write their answer in
the illustration board given.
 Allotted time given 2 minutes.
Integrated Subject:

Materials and Tools Used in Installing I.O Jack

 Unshielded Twisted-Pair (UTP) Cable –.are groups of twisted pairs of wire that grouped
together with color coded insulators.
 Punch-down Tool – used to push the wire down firmly and properly into the termination
slot.
 Wire stripper – used to remove the electrical insulation from the electric wires.
 Wire cutter – a plier intended for cutting of wire and not generally used to grab or turn
anything.
 Table – it is a place where you put I.O jack before you punch down the wires.
 Color code – allow a quick and accurate installation of each wire.
 I.O jack – are used in the wiring system of LAN and Ethernet connections.

Methodology and Safety in a Workplace

 5S – is a standardized process that when properly implemented it create and maintains an
organized, safe, clean and efficient workplace.
 OHS – a planned system of working to prevent illness and injury where you work by
recognizing and identifying hazard and risks.

Steps/Procedure in Installing I.O Jack

 Prepare all the tools and materials needed.
 Strip approximately 1.5 inches of wire from the jacket of the UTP cable.
 Carefully remove the outer jacket of the strip cable.
 Straighten and untwist the pairs of wire.
 Remove the jack’s protective cap.
 Choose which wire configuration you will use.
 Keep the cable jacket as close to the connector.
 Place the wires into their correct terminal slots to position before punching down.
 Punch down the wires and make sure that the tool is straight (90 degrees angle) on the
connector, pressed the wires as far down into the termination slot.
 Cut all the excess wire, inspect the connector to verify that the wires are fully engaged in the
terminal slots and they are cut properly.

F. ANALYSIS

 Why it’s necessary to follow the steps in installing the I.O Jack?

G. ABSTRACTION

 Why do you think that we need to use the proper handtools in installing an I.O Jack?
 What might be the possible outcome if we did not used the methodology and safety in the
workplace?
H. APPLICATION
 Group-Activity-Return-Demo
Mechanics:
 Students will be divided into (5) five groups.
 Each member of the group are encourage to participate on the task given.
 Allotted time given 10 minutes.
 Students performance will be graded accordingly.
