Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

Grade/Section: Grade 3
Time Allotted: One Hour

I.OBJECTIVES

At the end of 60 minutes period, 80 percent of the students should be able to


• Express multiplication as repeated addition;
• Identify the properties of multiplication;
• Master the basic multiplication facts; and
• Solve multi-step world problem involving addition, subtraction and
multiplication.

II.SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Multiplication of Whole Numbers
Reference: Teaching Mathematics in the Primary Grades 17-22
Materials: Cartolina, Flash Cards, Marker, Glue, Pictures, Worksheet Paper, Pencil

III.INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE

A. Awareness
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review of the past lessons
5. Motivation

and let the class guess what symbol is that in mathematics
B. Activity
1. Introduce the new lesson
2. Tire out to a class the survey form and let the students tally their answer on
the flip chart.
3. Let the students do the activity in 5 minutes.
Task: Identify the data based on your family survey form and analyze the
information inside the table.

Activity: Going to the mall!

Materials: Grocery items and play money


Using the list and play money provided, students will look for the items, buy them and be ones
to compute for the total amount to be paid and the amount of change.

• I will arrange the grocery items to make the classroom look like a mall.
• And after that I will divide the class into groups of five. Each group is provided with a list
of things to buy. See to it that multiplication is applied in the process, so include the list ine
item but In a multiple pieces
(ex: 6 sachets of shampoo)
• I will assign students who will act as cashers
• Emphasize that both students who act as cashiers and the one buying must compute for
the total amount to be paid and the amount of change.

Directions: Conduct a family survey about their favorite colors and present it to the table by
tallying it. Do not forget to analyze, organize and interpret each of the variables.
