Architecture is both the process and the product of planning, designing, and con-
structing buildings or any other structures. In India to study the subject of
Architrecture aspirants have to pass the examinations of NATA and JEE B.Arch after
which the rank in the test determines the institutes,colleges and universities which
will offer the seat .These are two separate exams which are conducted twice a year
for NATA once in April and in July for JEE B.Arch it is January and April the basic
eligibility of attempting these respective examinations is higer secondary education
with physics chemistry maths subject stream and drawing aptitude with knowledge
of perspective and observational skills .There is also an option of B.Planning which
does not reqire subjects of science stream but Maths is required .Some of the well
known institutions which select students through these examinations are

sign , Film and Video Communication and many more emerging and promising fields
A design is a plan or specification for the construction of an object or system or for the implemen-
tation of an activity or process, or the result of that plan or specification in the form of a proto-
type, product or process. Simply put a solution to a problem is the function and purpose of design
. The main Examinations for intake of students in primier colleges
and institutes of design in India are NID DAT for National Institute of Desgin,UCEED for IIT IDC
,Bombay and other IIT’s for their Design Departments ,NIFT Entrance Exam for Various
National Institutes of Fashion Technology all mentioned national selection exams are held
at the end of year in December or January the registration begins three months before the exam-
inations after clearing the written exam also known as prelims in case of NID DAT after which the
mains or studio test and interview is conducted to select the candidates In case of UCEED the
test is computer based objective test with second part being a drawing test after qualifying the
test ranking determines the colleges and insttutes on offer, NIFT entracne is same as well a
paper based test with rank determining the colleges on offer after a counselling the eliguibility to
appear for above mentioned exams is a higher secondary schooling with any subject stream.
