I. MINI-LESSON DAY 1

Hello, today you’re going to name some

waste materials that can be turned into useful
products. But before that, you need to observe first the
picture below.
Look at the pictures below. What can you say about it?

_____________________________________

Activity 1 Know Me Well

I. Problem: How will you classify waste materials?
II. Hypothesis: We can classify waste materials by separating the materials
that could be turned into useful products from the materials
that can’t be use anymore.
III. Materials: pictures of waste materials
IV. Procedures
1. Observe the waste materials inside the box.
2. Identify which waste material/s can be turned into useful
product.
3. Write their names in the correct column.

Identified Materials that can Materials that can’t be

materials be turned into turned into useful product

Guide questions
1. What are some waste materials that can be turned into useful
products? __________________________________________
2. When does a material be considered as waste?
___________________________________________________
3. What do you call the process of making new product from waste
materials? __________________________________________
4. How will you classify waste materials?
 Is your hypothesis correct? If yes why, if no, why?
_____________________________________________________.
 Therefore what is your conclusion? ________________________
_________________________________________________________________

When materials already served its primary use and can be

discarded, it is considered as waste materials.
Recycling means to create a new product using a material that
has already served its purpose or waste materials.
For example:
