• Hi, X, how are you today?
• Hi, Y, I am fine, thanks. What about you?
• I am very well, thanks. As you know, we are responsible for making a film ,,My local community" and we have to write a project proposal. So, we have to discuss some aspects. Firstly, how do you think, when we could start? • In my opinion, we should take place on Saturday, because there will be more people in the city than on the regular days. What do you think? • I definitely agree with you – weekend is the best choice, because people are busy at workdays. Okay, so we discussed when we will be starting to film our movie, but we also need the place, where we want to make it. In my mind, the best place to start filming would be Vingis Park. It is a big center for many recreational activities. There are carousels, cafes, restaurants, and bike and rollerskate rental venues. Have you any better ideas? • I think you have a wonderful idea, but I want to share my idea with you. I believe that we can start making a movie in the Mountain park, which is also know as Kalnų parkas. I say this because at night you can see whole Vilnius, the sight would be great there and we could cover everyday life of ordinary people of all ages. Don't you think? • Ohh, I like your idea, you changed my mind... Okay, lets choose Mountain park. I really like your idea to cover everyday life of ordinary people of all ages. In my opinion, we can show various occupations and different social status. Also, I suggest to include reports from kindergartens, offices, services, shops and cafes and so on. In my mind it is the best idea to show our local community. Do you agree? • I see your point, but I think that it is better to show our traditions rather than services, shops and cafes. For instance, we could include some reports from Shrove Tuesday, also known as Užgavėnės. Because Lithuania has its own unique take on this particular holiday. Bevause this day is traditionally one full of merriment, over indulging in pancakes, and wearing hand-carved wooden masks. Don't you think? • What sounds interesting.. But I still think that our film should discuss the problems of local community life and ways of solving them. For example, we could show the problem, that the elderly are living in isolation. For many elderly people, it could exacerbate medical problems like dementia, depression, and heart disease. • I definitely agree with you!!! As I know, according to some studies, elderly people who lacked adequate social relationships were twice as likely to die prematurely, with the risk factor being roughly on par with that of smoking. So, maybe we should include the ways of solving it? • Yes, I think, that we should mention the fact, that volunteers are always welcome at senior homes. Also, there are plenty of other options to help your senior neighbors. For instance, people can help them adopt an animal companion. Don't you think? • Umm.. I think that it is better to just to be more senior-friendly via discounts and deliveries... • Okay, I believe that we can include the both ways of solving this problem. So let's conclude our ideas! We will be making this film in the Mountain Park on the weekend. In the movie we will show the problem, that elderly are living in isolation and include the ways of solving it. Am I right? • Yes, you are right! Also don't forget, that in the movie we will cover everyday life of ordinary people of all ages and show various occupations and different social status. • That's right. Okay, so see you on Saturday, Y. • See you!
