Types of Makeup
There are two main types of makeup - simple and complex. Simple makeup, despite its name,
has certain difficulties in execution, and is quite laborious for an inexperienced makeup artist. Its
essence is to observe the general harmony of style and color. In addition, it should look easy and
natural.
Simple makeup includes 6 steps:
• face tinting;
• powder application;
• eyebrow shaping;
• eye makeup;
• lip design;
• putting blush.
I would like to dwell on the make-up of the eyes in a bit more detail: on the edge of the upper
and lower eyelids they draw a contour, after which they make eyebrows, apply eye shadow and
mascara.
The choice of the color of the shadows can be any, but it is important to remember that the
darkest shade is applied at the outer corner of the eye, slightly lighter on the crease after the
eyelid, lighter on the mobile eyelid, and the lightest under the eyebrow. This is the application of
shadows is a classic and allows the most beneficial to emphasize the eyes.
Complicated makeup is performed according to the same scheme as simple, and the difference is
that complex makeup aims not only to emphasize different parts of the face, but also to hide
flaws, to model and adjust the shape of the face and its parts.
Complicated makeup is a time-consuming face modeling, various study of all forms using blush
and powder.
The purpose of complex makeup is to emphasize the merits of the face and emphasize the
naturalness of skin tones, lips, etc. Complex modeling should be performed in accordance with
the laws of painting, so that the end result will be a natural play of light and shadow.
Make up remover
Make-up removal, or removal of decorative cosmetics from the skin of the face and neck, is
carried out as follows:
• remove lipstick;
• remove makeup from the eyes;
• cleanse the skin with a special milk makeup remover;
• tones the skin with a tonic selected according to the type of skin;
• apply day or night cream depending on the time of day.
So, to become a specialist in the field of makeup, you do not need to attend expensive courses of
makeup artists, you just have to study the nine stages of applying cosmetics. Below, we will tell
you about how to properly use cosmetics, so that it does not add you extra years and make your
image vulgar, but refreshed your face and emphasized all the advantages of appearance.
First stage
Perform cleansing of the skin as described above. Remember that only on well and properly
cleaned skin cosmetics will fall smoothly and beautifully.
Second phase
When the skin is cleansed, it must be moistened. Do not forget that if you have oily skin, then it
is better to use a cream with matting effect.
Apply tone to moisturized skin under makeup. About what basis to use and how to properly
apply it, we have already spoken above. Remember, if you use a sponge to apply the tone, it
should be washed every two days. In general, the life of the sponge is not more than three weeks.
Third stage
After applying the foundation for make-up, powder is applied to the skin of the face. Perhaps at
this stage it is worth staying in some detail. Powder is produced in several types: crumbly,
compact, mineral and cream powder. When using the latter one should be aware that it is applied
to the skin of the face with the fingers with light circular movements. All other types of powder
are distributed with a powder puff or a special thick brush, trying not to rub it in, but slightly to
drive it into the skin.
If you have applied the powder correctly, then its layer will be completely invisible. If it is too
much, you just need to remove the excess with quick brushing movements of the brush or puff.
Loose powder of good quality will help to make the skin of the face matte, as well as prolong the
"life" of the makeup. If you want to look younger, then you should use a powder with light-
reflecting particles, which will give the skin a healthy and radiant look.
Fourth stage
At this stage we will work on the eyebrows, using a special eyebrow pencil. If your eyebrows are
not thick enough, this can be easily corrected by rubbing eyebrows with a beige pencil first and
then applying short, thin strokes with a dark pencil to match the eyebrows.
Excessively wide and thick eyebrows can be slightly corrected with tweezers.
Fifth stage
Having finished with eyebrows, you can begin to draw the contour of the eyes. Lesson is quite
painstaking, since the contour should be done very carefully.
For drawing a contour special pencils of various colors are used: black, green, brown, gray, etc.
The outline of the eye in form is the Latin letter V in a horizontal position.
Draw a contour starting from the outer corner of the eye. First, it is laid along the upper eyelid,
and then along the lower eyelash growth line. The edges of the contour should be slightly shaded
so that it does not look too rough.
Depending on the purpose of the make-up, as well as on the shape and structure of the eyes, the
contour can be brought to the innermost corner of the eye or to finish it, not reaching one third of
it. If you need a more lasting makeup, you can use a liquid eyeliner instead of a contour
pencil. In this case, the contour should be drawn carefully, since it is very easy to draw an
uneven line that will ruin the entire makeup. Performing the eye contour with a liquid eyeliner,
you need to draw in the opposite direction - from the inner corner of the eye to the outside.
Sixth stage
Now you can do the application of eye shadow. Many women mistakenly believe that shadows
should not be used for everyday makeup, but this is not at all the case. Eyeshadows help not only
to visually enlarge the eyes, but also make them more expressive. For everyday makeup, you
should also use eye shadow, with the only difference that the colors and shades should choose
neutral.
First, shadows of light tones are applied to the upper eyelid closer to the nose, trying not to fall
on the area of the eyelid above the crease. After that, you need to hold a neat line under the lower
eyelid from the outer corner of the eye to the middle and, putting the applicator, gently feather
the shadows with a pad of your finger.
The fold of the upper eyelid emit a darker shade. After applying shadows on the crease of the
eyelid, they should also be shaded with a finger. Next, the area under the brow is covered with
shades of white or pale pink hue. The transition between the colors is carefully ground.
Seventh stage
At the seventh stage, they pay special attention to eyelashes. Apply mascara should be a special
brush with light swing movements, it is necessary to ensure that the brush is in a horizontal
position.
First, the mascara is applied to the upper lashes from the inside, following strictly along the
lashes, i.e. the pile of the brush should be parallel to the cilia. Otherwise they will stick
together. If, however, bonding has occurred, then allow the carcass to dry, and only then gently
rub the eyelashes with a dry brush or a special brush for combing.
After applying mascara on the upper lashes, you can go to the lower. You should hold the brush
vertically. If necessary, apply several layers of mascara.
To create the effect of fluffy eyelashes will help dry powder. When you have applied one layer
of mascara, without waiting until they are dry, apply a bit of crumbly powder. After that, cover
the eyelashes with another layer of mascara. This little trick will help to get the effect of terry
and thick eyelashes, even without using mascara with special effects.
Eighth stage
Next comes the turn of the rouge. Look carefully at your face. In the place where the cheekbones
especially come forward, and they should be superimposed.
Dry blush is applied with a thick brush, like powder. To do this, type a little money on the brush
and draw a dim strip along the highlighted area. If the strip turned out to be too bright, lightly
blend it with a clean brush or powder a little on top, making sure that there is no large amount of
powder on top of the blush, as this will only aggravate the result.
Apply blush from the outer corner of the eye in the direction of the hairline. In addition to
cheekbones, blush is also placed on the center of the forehead, above the eyebrows and on the
chin. On the forehead and chin the blush should be barely noticeable, so you need to carefully
shade them to avoid the effect of stains.
Stage nine
In conclusion, make out lips. For these purposes you will need a contour pencil, lipstick or lip
gloss and a flat brush for applying lipstick. It is constantly necessary to ensure that the contour
pencil is sharp, the dull pencil cannot be used, since it is impossible for them to draw a clear and
even contour line.
First, draw a contour of the upper lip with a pencil, drawing a line from the middle to the corners
of the mouth. Then perform the contour of the lower lip. To get a clear and even contour line,
you need to draw in short movements.
After making the contour, lipstick or lip gloss is applied using a flat brush. Glitter or lipstick is
also best applied to the lips with short strokes from the center to the corners of the mouth. The
contour can be shaded with a lipstick brush, making it invisible, or left as it is. In this case, the
contour must be matched to the lipstick.
It is difficult to gently apply lipstick to the corners of the mouth, so for convenience you need to
slightly open the mouth. A transparent lip gloss can be applied over the lipstick, which will make
the lips seductive and make them more expressive. To gloss did not spread over the lipstick, it
should be applied only on the central part of the lips.
Let us tell you a little secret how to make lipstick last longer without losing its shine and
color. After the final application of lipstick on the lips, slightly blot them with a napkin, and then
apply a thin layer of powder. On top of the powder, again cover the lips with lipstick and gloss, if
necessary. Now your lips will stay fresh and seductive for a long time. And if you want to
visually enlarge the thin lips, then this effect can be achieved if you put a little lipstick with
mother of pearl in the center of the lips.
