Activity 1:

COURAGEOUSLY PURE

After hearing the talk on purity, take few minutes to reflect. St. Paul in his letter to the Romans
gives us this advice:

“I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is
good and pleasing and perfect.”
—Romans 12:1

One-Sentence Realization on the Talk:

Let us ask ourselves how far have we gone in obeying the Lord in his call to live pure? The five
point purity test may aid you to do self-examination.

Try this 5-point Purity Test:

 Do I refrain from engaging myself to sexual activities for pleasure and personal
satisfaction?
___Always ___Often ___Sometimes ___Never
 Do I refrain from using others’ body as objects of my sexual desires?
___Always ___Often ___Sometimes ___Never
 Do I refrain from reading, watching or listening to various materials in the internet with
sexual content?
___Always ___Often ___Sometimes ___Never
 Do I feel guilt every time I commit sin against purity?
___Always ___Often ___Sometimes ___Never
 Am I willing to practice purity/chastity in response to God’s Loving call?

In your heart, there is a great desire to live pure and follow the ways of God. Concretize it by
writing your own PURE promise to the Lord. Write a one liner you wish to utter to the Lord in
your desire to live a pure life.

In conclusion, talk to the Lord in prayer and ask for his grace to be faithful to the promise you
have just made.

Father, inflame my heart and my inmost being with the fire of Your Holy Spirit, that I may
serve You with chaste body and pure mind. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Activity #2

Sharing-Reflection for the Family.

Direction: The elder of the Family will lead the Opening prayer. After the opening prayer; the
family will now proceed with the sharing. The Family can use a symbol that represent the family
and give it to the sharer. Closing prayer will be led by the student member of the family.

Opening Prayer

Lord Jesus, be with my family. Grant us Your peace and harmony, an end to conflict and
division. Gift us with the compassion to better understand each other, the wisdom and love to
assist each other, and the trust and patience to live peacefully together. Grant that, through the
intercession of Your Mother, Mary and St. Joseph our family too may become a holy family,
accepting each other, working together in unity, and selflessly dedicated to one another and to
You. Amen

Guide questions for reflection:

 What are my earliest memories with my parents?

 How did you learn to pray? Who taught you how to pray? Explain.
 Recall important events in your family where you experience happiness?
 Pick three words to describe your family, explain.
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for renewing our hearts and minds. Thank You for sending Your
Spirit to us that we may express Your love to our families. We are also grateful to You for giving
us our loved ones.
But we also admit, God, that we are not always the lovers of peace that You want us to be.
There are times in our families when we fight and bicker with each other. There are times when
we let anger, strife, and bitterness rule over our hearts and because of this, we end up hurting
our families. We ask for You to forgive us, loving Father, for these sins against our own families.
Change our hearts and make them truly loving.
Also enable us, Father God, to extend the same forgiveness to the members of our families
whom we have hurt. Humble us, Lord, so that we may seek forgiveness without pride. We ask
You to heal the wounds in their hearts as well. Touch their hearts that they may accept our
pleas for forgiveness. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
