    (a) What is deficiency disease?
    Ans: Deficiency diseases are caused when our body does not get sufficient amount of
    nutrients. It is a non-communicable disease.
    (b) What are communicable diseases?
    Ans: The diseases which spread from an infected person to a healthy person are called
    communicable diseases. Eg: Cholera, Typhoid, Tuberculosis
    (c) What is a balanced diet?
    Ans: A daily diet which contains all the nutrients in right amount is called a balanced diet.
    It must contain the nutrients like carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals.
    5.Answer the questions given below in 40-45 words each:
    (a) How does housefly spread disease?
    Ans: Houseflies sit on garbage having germs and when they sit on food ,they spread germs
    causing malaria, Dengue and chikungunya.
    (b) List four measures that should be taken to control malaria.
    Ans: a) Do not allow water to stand as mosquitoes lay eggs there.
    b) Introduce fishes in ponds. They eat mosquito larvae.
    c) Use mosquito net for sleeping
    d) Use mosquito repellent cream._
    3.Answer the questions given below in 20-25 words each:
    (a) Name three food item that provide fiber.
    Ans: Good sources include barley, oatmeal, beans, nuts, and fruits such as apples, berries,
    citrus fruits, and pears. 

    (b) Name three diseases for which you have been vaccinated.
    Ans: We got vaccinated for polio, chicken pox, mumps and measles.
