The document discusses proper tongue posture, which involves resting the tip of the tongue behind the upper teeth with the middle and back thirds pressed against the palate. It also discusses the importance of proper swallowing technique and how posture can affect tongue position.

Proper tongue posture involves resting the tip behind the upper teeth with the middle and back pressed to the palate. A proper swallow is initiated by the tongue pushing up on the palate and moving back, not forward to the teeth, during swallowing. An improper swallow is called a tongue thrust.

The document recommends neck stretches like the trapezius stretch, SCM/scalene stretch, and chin tuck to improve forward neck posture. It also suggests tongue exercises like touching the nose and chin to strengthen the tongue muscles.

Suction Hold

The suction hold is a natural way in which you can get your
tongue to stay on the roof of your mouth.

Try right now to swallow, and notice how your tongue makes a
"sweeping" motion across your palate to draw the saliva.

Try doing that suction hold and then swallowing over and over,
until the tongue is "suctioned" to the upper palate. You should
try to maintain this position as much as you can.

TONGUE/BODY CONNECTION

However usually postural issues are related, such as rounded shoulders,

posture will align even better

The most common imbalance in the neck is forward head posture,
