Quarter 1 – Module 5 : Logo Design

INTRODUCTION:

LOGO DESIGN

Logo design has changed in the few decades, thanks to


the power and creative ability of computers. It has provided logo
designers more opportunities to be productive. Some of the popular
applications used today are InDesign, Photoshop, Inkscape and
other editing software. By these tools, you can able to express your
ideas easily and produce Logos faster.
In this module, you will create digital logo either it is
personal logo or a class logo as visual representation. Remember
that creating art takes time, attention to detail and patience. So, you
can budget your time accordingly. Enjoy the artistic challenges!

OBJECTIVE:

In this lesson you should be able to:


Create personal or class logo as visual representation
that can be used as a product, brand, or trademark

VOCABULARY:

Before you go on in this activity, familiarize first the


meaning of the following words

Personal Logo – logos that are used for the brand possessions,
achievements or even one’s identity.

Inkscape – is a professional quality graphics software which runs


on Linux, MS OS X and Windows desktop

Adobe Photoshop – is a software that is extensively used for


raster image editing, graphic design, and digital art.

PRACTICE TASK – I MAKE ME!

Here is now the Activity Options provided that you would


prefer to design an actual digital logo for target market of your
choice.

Procedure:

Choose one role in an activity option


From the role that you choose, begin by figuring out first what
particular product, company, or service you are interested in.
After figuring out what target market you want, try to sketch some
ideas.
Once you have completed some sketches, scan the image then
start translating it digitally using Inkscape, Photoshop or Paint
Brush 3D.
Take your time to create this using computer.

PRACTICE TASK 2: CREATE ME!

Procedures:

1. Think about all the things that go into the makeup of your identity, such
as:

a. Words, Letters
• What words, letters, or phrases have personal meanings to you?
• Is it a word “peace” because you think it is what the world need?
• Is it your favourite motto?
• Is it your family name? own initials, birthday etc?

b. Experiences
• How will you tell people about your life in a logo?
• What is important to you?
• What do you do for a living?
• How do you see yourself in relation to the people or place
around you?

c. Symbols
• Do certain colours, objects, or shapes bring memories?
• Do certain faces make you inspired and not to forget?
• Do letters and numbers represent a group, culture, or
organization?

2. After some contemplation, sketch some ideas. Once you have


completed some sketches, select one that you feel strongly about. Scan
the image, and then, start translating it digitally.

PRACTICE TASK 3 – IT’S ME!

In this activity, you will make a PERSONAL


IDENTITY LOGO wherein:

You are allowing to design based from your familiar


ideas such as you own thoughts feelings or an
experiences.
After that, try to sketch some ideas.
Once you have completed some sketches, scan
the image then start translating it digitally using
Inkscape, Photoshop or Paint Brush 3D.
Take your time to create this using computer.

POST TEST:

If you were given a chance to become a businessman,


what logo would you like to have? Draw it using a short coupon
bond and translate it digitally.
