GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS The command language is
• Each alarm should be given with verbal instructions. ENGLISH !
• No survival craft shall be launched without the order of the Captain or his substitute.
• If the CO2-alarm sounds in the engine room, personnel shall leave the engine room immediately and go to the Muster Station.
• Any fire, inrush of water or any other danger has to be reported without delay to the bridge or to the person on watch.
• In port, people going ashore must put their cabins in the locked condition.
• The kind of emergency will be announced on public adress sysytem after sounding general alarm.
• Drills will be previously announced and introduced by the general alarm.

• All people on board shall go as rapidly as possible by the shortest way to the musterstation, if no verbal instructions are given.
• Each person should put on strong clothing covering the whole body, strong shoes and, if available, a protective helmet, should take
warm head covering and shall equip himself with a life-jacket.
• Watch keepers remain at their post until they are relieved or received the order to leave it from the head of operations.
• All measures already started against fire or other danger is to be continued.

SOPEP SQUAD

Rank Duties
Master Master Overall in charge of operation on board dealing with an oil
spill; responsible for all steps to be taken especially for the
two main categories - reporting and action.
Duty Officer 2nd Off. Alert and inform vessel's command. Mobilize off duty crew.
NWO First steps to control outflow of oil, probable or actual, steps
to prevent oil escaping from the vessel.
Chief Officer Ch. Off. Suport squad.In charge of deck operation; should keep the
master informed and updated the situation and the results
from actions taken to stop or minimize an oil outflow.
Chief Ch. Eng. In case of an oil spill organize oil spill fighting team to
Engineer commence on board clean up procedures; should keep the
master informed and updated on the situation and the results
from action to limit oil outflow. Stops all pumping
operations.
Duty 2nd Eng.; Electr; Assist chief engineer, Limit outflow by operating pumps /
Engineer 3th Eng valves to empty or slack overflowing tanks to void tanks
Duty Oiler Oiler ,Fitter Assist duty engineer; Prepare for fire fighting; Ensure
sufficient air pressure to deck; Organize on board clean-up
equipment. Check all scuppers.
Duty AB 1; AB 2; OS 1; If an oil leakage is detected alert duty officer, chief engineer
Deckhands OS 2; SD/Cdt; and crew immediately by all possible means; Position
absorbent material, clean-up material to prevent any escaped
oil from reaching the railing; Close all scupers. Cleaning
squad.
Off Duty Bsn.; Wiper; C/ Ck;
Personel SE/Cdt; Elect/Cdt; As advised by spill response officer, prepare water hoses
with jet nozzles, obtain clean up material, commence clean
up procedures.
