Macramé and Basketry: Old Tradition to New Art Form, these versatile handicrafts have
been handed down through generations. Through these techniques, simple materials can be
turned into household products, embellishments and accessories such as wall hangings,
plant hangers, basket and even jewelry, purses, bag and clothing items. Throughout time,
one thing has remained constant: these handicrafts has been part of our tradition and is still
in practiced.

OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson you are expected to:

SYNCHRONOUS SESSION

 20 words will be shown via zoom slideshare, you have 30 seconds to memorize as many words as
possible;
 After the allotted time, you and your classmates will be called one by one to do the task;
 Your task is to unjumble a word on the screen-this word is from the set of words you are ask to
memorize;
 If the playing student failed to answer within 5 seconds, you have the chance to steal.
 Every correct answer is equivalent to one point and will be added on the leaderboard.

 Macramé- a form of textile produced using knotting techniques.


 Migramah- an Arabic word which means “striped towel”, “ornamental fringe” or “embroidered
veil.
 Knotting-a decorative pattern produced by interlacing and tying knots.
 Fringe- an ornamental border of threads left loose or formed into tassels or twists.
 Basketry- the process of weaving or sewing pliable materials into three-dimensional artifacts
 Pliable- easily bent; flexible.
