Dynamic woman entrepreneur working as the
Managing Director with Simplex Castings Limited.
She has a Masters Degree in Business Administration
with specialization in Human Resources. With an
experience of over 18 years in the core manufacturing
sector, she is passionate about transforming the
traditional business approach to professional and has
led to an astounding attainment.

She is great at networking and an active member of

Industrial Associations, CII, IIF, and Chhattisgarh Skill
Development. She is president of the prestigious
Institute Management Committee(IMC) which works
with government for up-gradation of ITI's in India
under public-private-partnership program. The
company has seen such favorable results due to her
insights on commercial, financial, plant operations,
industrial relations. She joined the Board as an
Executive Director on 1st October 2014 and due to her
strategic and analytical attributes, she was offered
Sangeeta Ketan Shah the position on Managing Director in January 2018.

In the next five years, she foresees the company becoming hybrid, viz. about half of its capacity
should be on repetitive castings and the other half in the present jobbing way. For which, she
plans to deliberately invest in marketing and capacity building for the repetitive casting business
which traditionally comes from three segments, viz. Railways and Automobiles, Wear Resistant
Castings and Motors, Pumps and Valves for engineering / oil / water applications. She also plans
to partner with technology for development of Wear Resistant Castings required in Cement,
Crushing and Mining Industries.

Further, she thrives on taking new challenges in the field of operations. While we cannot deny the
fact that we require skilled manpower to run a Foundry. So a continuous upgradation is required
in the core facilities of the company that would assist us in becoming the global supplier and give
value additions to our customers. She also wants to try her hands on developing certain products
and equipments for railway track maintenance needed by Indian Railways. On EPC sector, the
company is also focusing on metallurgical sector. The company is evaluating appropriate
possibilities keeping its strengths in order to add more work to this domain.

business presence. The company was established as a Ferrous Foundry, as a partnership
firm, which was converted into Private Limited Company, registered under the Indian
Companies Act, with its registered office in Mumbai, India on 30th of January 1980.

Thereafter, in the year 1993, the company was listed with Bombay Stock Exchange and
turned into a public limited company with shares held by public, financial institutions,
rated as SME-II Grade Company, with its registered office in Mumbai and corporate office
in Bhilai, India, since then rapidly spreading its business presence with branch office &

 Technology, Quality and Supply

Technology up-gradation is an ongoing activity in Simplex. Over the period, we have expanded
and augmented our production facilities, adopted modern CAD/CAM, tools for 3D, simulation
software for solidification, CMM for inspection accuracy and so on.

On quality front we have acquired necessary accreditations with ISO 9002, API, ASME, ABS,
AAR, TPG etc, testing facilities are up to the mark for all physical and chemical tests to be
conducted in-house, approved by various relevant authorities.

We are well recognized and registered supply partner to almost all core sector industries like
Steel Mills, Aluminium smelters & downstream, other Metallurgical Plants, Railways, Power

 Implementation of SAP

IMPLEMENTING

The Company has implemented SAP-Hana, a leading ERP solution with effect from 1st
April, 2018 by switching over from existing custom ERP system. While, implementation of
any system brings efficiency, we have taken this activity in highest professional standards
by introduction of key projects like procurement cost savings strategy, process
optimization in areas of production, manpower management & prediction techniques with
data analytics. With our units connected on real-time, we now have complete transparency
in procurement, production, manufacturing as well as dispatch. Like every business
automation, our teams invested additional hours to ensure that our processes are well
defined in SAP. It has been a time taking exercise for us. We intend to stablise this initiative
in FY 2018-19 thus envisioning ourselves a fully IT enablement organization.

1.FOUNDRY DIVISION
Capacity- 15000 MT/Annum

Grey Iron Foundry having Induction and Cupola furnaces with an annual production capacity of 28000 MT.
A world class Premier Foundry. 30% of its annual production is exported to different countries. It can
make single piece of Grey Iron Castings weighing upto 45 MT, and capable of producing a wide spectrum
of Cast Iron Castings like Heat Resistant, Acid Resistant, Hi-chrome, Wear Resistant, Compacted Graphite
Iron Castings etc.
It has Green Sand Moulding Line - ARPA 1300 Jolt Squeeze Machine with fixed box size of 1000
mmx1000mm and height 200-400 mm. Besides, it also has Hand Molding facilities , a large sophisticated
Design setup, Pattern Shop, annealing furnace, Machine Shop including CNC Machines, Fabrication shop,
Assembly Shops, Sand Blasting & Shot Blasting Plants. Unit has modern testing laboratories equipped with
spectrometers, Ultrasonic Testing facilities, modern physical lab, Microstructure testing machine, etc.

Products range includes:

Grey iron casting with strength of 250 N/mm2 single piece weighing up to 45 MT.Grey iron castings with
strength beyond 250 N/mm2 single piece weighing up to 5MT.Alloyed cast iron including Ni-resistant/Hi-
chrome up to a weight range of 8 MT.S.G. Iron Castings in the grade of 400/12, 450/10, 500/7 and other
special grades like Hi-Si-Mo, single piece weighing up to 6 MT and so on.

Project Division
The division has desired infrastructure to undertake projects from
concept to commissioning. It has experienced design engineers
and project implementers stationed at Bhilai and Kolkata. We have
supporting staff for monitoring and to take corrective actions
based on stage wise progress. The division provides services after
commissioning and the supply of necessary spares.

We aim to bring about a meaningful change in the lives of our people. In this fast growing high –
tech world, we focus on educating our youths through vocational training programs, aiming for a
better future for them.

Regular health camps and blood donation camps are organized, activities on women
empowerment are too organized on a regular basis as we believe, “There is no tool for
development more effective than the empowerment of women”

Activities undertaken by SCL in the past

Medical and Blood Donation Camp – Everybody deserves to live a healthy life. Keeping in mind,
SCL has organized several health and blood donation camps in the rural areas. We are elated to
have touched lives in a positive way.

School Infrastructure Development – “Right to education,” is what we believe in. We have in

several areas, contributed to the development of the school infrastructure for a better learning
experience. Additionally developed libraries for the students.
We have also helped build toilets, focusing on the importance of sanitation. Proper parking lots
have been made for any inconvenience,

Environment – Environment is one of the major focus areas of SCL. With the number of trees
being cut every year, we target to plant as many trees as possible and create awareness on
deforestation.

Education – The company is closely working with Priyadarshi Education and Manshik Swasth
Sewa Samiti in providing education to Autism Spectrum Disorder children.
Autism is a condition characterized by challenge with social skills, repetitive behaviors and non-
verbal communication. SCL in association with Priyadarshi Education and Manshik Swasth Sewa
Samiti has conducted several workshops in schools, colleges, medical institutions creating
awareness on Autism and providing trainings to the teachers and parents on how to identify and
deal with children and elders suffering from this disorder.

Employment Enhancing Vocational Training – “Youth Empowerment” is also where we are

focusing on where we continuously provide vocational training and skills development programs
to the youths, generating employment opportunities
