28. Dentists say that good oral hygiene requires the daily brushing of teeth as well as
regular flossing. Both brushing and flossing help a person maintain strong and clean teeth.
They are both effective ways to remove dirt called plaque in between teeth and gums.
However, most people brush their teeth two to three times daily, but floss only once in a while.
The reason why many brush their teeth more often than they floss is that brushing is relatively
easier compared to flossing, which demands extra effort to be done effectively. Nevertheless,
flossing is important as it can remove food particles in between the teeth which cannot be
reached by a regular toothbrush. Flossing is, in fact, just as important as brushing the teeth.
What is undeniable, though, is that both brushing and flossing should be done to have healthy
gums and teeth.
