The PRECISION Heat Detector provides combined fixed heat and rate of rise • Analog addressable
detection. This combination makes it suitable for use in harsh environments • Priority Alarm reporting
where elevated and fluctuating temperatures are considered normal, such as
• Secondary conventional alarm
kitchens, laundries and boiler rooms.
reporting
The Heat Detector is designed for use with the PROACTIV Fire Alarm Control
Panel (FACP) System. The detector has a similar physical profile to the
Ionization and Photoelectric smoke detectors, including two indicating LEDs,
but has a low airflow resistance case allowing ambient air to flow freely to the
temperature sensor.
Function
The PRECISION Heat Detector can operate in five (5) different modes and
are easily programmable from the PROACTIV FACP. The detector can report
three (3) alarm conditions: ALERT, ACTION and ALARM.
The five modes each provide a different response behavior making the
detector suitable for a range of applications. All modes incorporate a fixed
temperature response where the detector raises an alarm when the selected
temperature is reached. In addition, two of the five modes support rate-of-rise
response, allowing the detector to respond rapidly to sudden increases in
temperature.
The Heat Detector uses a single thermistor to sense the ambient air Heat Detector VFD-300 Mini
temperature at the detector position. The reading at the thermistor is Multi-sensor Detector VFD-400 Prior
converted to a digital format, which is processed to provide a digital value for Modu
transmission to the PROACTIV FACP when the device is polled. 4-inch Mounting Base VFD-000 Soun
4-inch Relay Base VFD-003 Input
The detector has two integral LED indicators, which can be illuminated by the
FACP to indicate that the device is in alarm. The detector can be programmed 4-inch 20D Isolator Base VFD-004 Shor
to flash each time the device is polled. 6-inch E-Z Fit Mounting Base VFD-005 Shor
6-inch Trim Ring VFD-002 PREC
If communication with the FACP is interrupted, the detector automatically
switches to its conventional alarm reporting mode. When a fire is detected, N
the detector imposes an alarm signal on the SLC which is received by the o
